Sarah Palin is not hard on the eyes. She's a handsome woman chosen no doubt for her resemblance to Jeena Davis who wasn't exactly the president but she played one on TV.

The camera loves Sarah Palin, but the microphone does not. Her voice sounds like a cross between Cindi Lauper and June Cleaver. It's a voice that you don't want to have waking you up in the morning. It's just irritating.

The other night a friend of ours was over visiting and when the name Sarah Palin came up she says, "I can't stand her voice." Soo quickly agreed.

I felt in good company.

I think it resembles whatever that Gene Kelly movie was named about the silent film star with the terrible voice who couldn't make it in the talkies

they are keeping palin sequestered, not letting her talk to the press, only prepared statements. I don't think this is because of her voice, I think they are trying to hide a wealth of ignorance with silence.

They aren't going to let her make talkies.

I lost interest.

Wake me up on the first tuesday morning of November, so I can go vote for Obama and hope for the best.

I suppose the best Palin joke of all is that what ever they are going to do will work and she will be the vice president of the United States.

I wouldn't be a defeatist quite so early, truck. The debates have yet to reveal any winner if the short history of aired debates are any clue -

1960 - Kennedy/Nixon
1980 - Reagan/Carter
1988 - Bush/Dukakis
1992 - Clinton/Bush
1996 - Clinton/Dole

2000 was Gore/Bush... a big surprise that Bush won the debate

Point is these listed debates clearly showed the weaknesses of the loser on the intimacy of the television... and the numbers that watch these debates was surprising - well over 50 million viewers on each debate.

Of course there is still the great Diebold question: have the problems ever been solved on those machines?

Yeah... anyone is better than Bush, no doubt. If McCain wins it's akin to saying "I had cancer of the colon but things are better now - I have a tumor on my brain."

The Diebold problem really does bother me... as you said nobody has questioned them. Why is that? It should be of enormous importance. I'll bet you a nickle that Florida has not improved their machines a bit to this day.

I really shouldn't make a big deal over who really wins this or any election. I've always said America always gets what it deserves. But! when there are problems with the equipment we actually use to vote in the next President of our country and both parties skirt the problem... that bothers me more that all else.

There is another thing that I'm waiting for the press, or even the candidates to talk about - reversing the damage Bush has done with spying, torture and other suspicious activities. Does anyone out there really care?

Diebold is a Republican not to worry, he is probably a white guy too.

Last I remember Maryland and few other states went back to paper trail for ballots cast.

That was the big issue, the machines easily hacked but Mr Diebold said there is no need to worry don't need no stinking paper trail for each votes cast.

Cecil you did not mention the election of 2004, I was funking for months after Kerry lost. I thought it was going to be a cake walk.

Speaking of the real world did you see Iraq signed a twenty billion deal with China to run their oil fields, the american and brits got a deal worth about a tenth of that.

I hope the debates make a difference. I see they fired the anchor man for the first debate, it won't matter what happens in the debate as much as what the pundits say afterwards. It will be spun and spinned to sound byes and slogans.

I mean I was so turned inside out after the 2004 election I just can't get my hopes up like that again. Even if McCain wins and croaks and Miss Pit Bull takes over, I think that the democrats will have such a lock on congress in the senate and the house they would have the three fifths and two third majorities they need to over ride vetoes, even impeach a president.

We going to stumble through this some how, we got to for the children's sake.
