Hot Ticket--Biden/Palin Debate

The hottest ticket in town on Thursday night will be the vice-presidential debate. Don King couldn't have promoted the Biden-Palin fight any better. This is the biggest thing since Billie Jean King had a tennis match with Bobby Riggs in 1973. They called it 'The Battle of the Sexes.'
I would hate to be Biden in this match. He's at a hopeless disadvantage. He can't rough her up to bad or he will appear to be a bully or a wife beater or something. In boxing terms this means that he has to wear 16 oz. gloves and she gets to fight bare knuckled. It will hardly be a fair fight.
All in all, this will be better reality TV than Dancing With the Stars. That's why they are expecting better box office for this fight than the presidential debate took in.
The Battle of the Sexes between King and Riggs resembles the Biden-Palin debate. Riggs was thirty years older than King. He was a 55 year old has been and she was at the top of her game. Riggs was going on the theory that old age and treachery will always defeat youth and enthusiasm. He was wrong. He lost in straight sets.
But politics is a strange sport. Beauty and good stage presence and 'freshness' can count for something, but they are usually overcome by knowledge of how the system works and powerful sponsors.
The oddsmakers are giving points to the little leaguer who is hopelessly out of her depth when it comes to big league politics.
Who is your money on?
