The Empress' Clothes

Post by stilltrucking » November 8th, 2008, 9:46 pm

Let her keep them, for crying out loud.

Word is that a GOP attorney has been dispatched to Alaska to collect Sarah Palin's campaign wardrobe. Thanks, guys. First you use the woman to energize your lackluster campaign, hoping her sex appeal -- enhanced by the wardrobe you had her buy and wear -- would win you votes. Now that you've lost your gamble, you take it all back.

Don't you think you owe her at least the shirt on her back?

Ever since Palin was selected as McCain's running mate, charges of sexism have been spun as suited one's purposes. Any criticism of Palin, which nearly everyone now understands to have been legitimate, was considered "sexist." Or, if you were a woman, "catty." I can't count the number of emails -- thousands, anyway -- that accused me of being jealous of Palin.

The true act and attitude of sexism in this election was the selection of Palin in the first place. She wasn't qualified and was selected ONLY because she was an attractive female. We can wager safely that an equally unqualified, less-attractive female would not have made the cut. The boys blew it. Big Time. They owe Palin those clothes and
a sincere apology for using her the way selfish men have always used women.

I saw her today saying she doesn't have them when told that someone is coming to her house to collect the clothes... odd the two stories going on when everyone knows there can only be one... but which one is the actual facts..? always the problem... whose telling the truth? a shame the truth is being veiled given the fact that all this revolves around a person that could've been the next VP...

I also wondered how she was reimbursed for all the traveling she did along with all her family... all that could've have been at her expense. The travel, the food, the lodging, the waste of time at the end... that must have been quite a bit of money not counting the clothing that was said to be purchased not only for Sarah but her entire family. Did the little kid's clothing have to be returned? It's the law... but all the other expenses..? An inquiring mind would like to know...

Have you wondered: "How John McCain came to pick Sarah Palin."
Upon being elected governor, Palin began developing relationships with Washington insiders, who later championed the idea of putting her on the 2008 ticket. “There’s some political opportunism on her part,” Bitney said. For years, “she’s had D.C. in mind.” He added, “She’s not interested in being on the junior-varsity team.”

The Insiders
I feel like the nightmare is almost over, ony two more months.

But I am scared for him Cecil, like deja vu of 1960 again.

We're not alone, truck, I'm sure of that. Our country has a history of such events... many more than I realized until I googled it. :!:
