Humor a la boliviana

Post by Arcadia » April 24th, 2010, 8:18 pm

I didn´t watch news last week, I had a lot of semi-intelectual work to do at home and I prefered to do zapping in Encuentro Channel with amazing results (a 1976 interview to a cool biting lip Susan Sontag, a Barthes´s conference about the loving discourse, the life and society of rodents -huge range from wood´s mouseys to rats, and from maras to carpinchos-, Viglietti on his father´s lancha exploring uruayan Río de la Plata´s side and interviewing isleños and singing his songs, an astonishing documentary about Elementary education and High School daily life in Siria...). So, when my students of sixth grade while studying -according to the textbook- the text´s caracteristics: coherence, cohesion and adecuation mentioned between laughters as an example of a non coherent oral text: "what they said on tv, that if you eat chicken you became an homosexual, it´s funny but it´s not true", I asked where they heard that or whom said that and I only get "on tv". Today listening to my brother (bald since he was 22) and watching a resumen of the week´s news I partiallly realized about what they were talking about listening to Evo Morales talking while Earth´s summit in Bolivia...  more sources later, I ´m going to the theatre now

When during a fifteen hour trip in a bolivian bus some of the argentine passengers asked to stop for a bathroom somewhere to the chofers we had first silence and then rudeness: "a ver, tanto lío, bajen por ahí y descarguen de una vez", our "ir al baño" was "descarguen por ahí" for them. I thought in cultural differences and all but that attitude I guess triggered the limits for my acceptance of cultural and biological differences (maybe we drink a lot of water in comparison to them, I don´t know...), and I answered also in rude way: "ey, no nos hables así, no somos bestias sabés?" to an inmutable chofer looking to the ground. I felt a bit stupid but I was angry and later I found that the bolivians on the bus thought it was somehow funny, they began after that to talk with the half argentine side of the bus...!

And about the links:"desviación en su ser como hombres" ("deviation is their being as men"): I guess the president of Bolivia must have an aclaration of this frase a bit ontológica and confusing in spanish if he doesn´t want someone finally eating his liver..!
