getting tough-- then and now . . .

Dear All:
This article ( link below) in the IHT (International Herald Tribune) highlights the recent failures of the "get tough" policy by the US military against protestors in Iraq.
Long ago, but on a day I remember well, our own militia "got tough" on domestic soil.
