"What we need is a visionary leader..."

Post by mnaz » September 11th, 2018, 1:02 pm

I think it's fair to say at this point that a growing-- shall I say, "silent majority?"-- would welcome a visionary, selfless leader, a moderate, attuned to the will of the American citizens.

Or ... not.

The prospect of such might be extinct at this point. Impossible to attain in our system as it has evolved/devolved.

Yes, "we want" visionary leadership, to balance public and private sector influence, to listen, point the way forward in the world and at home, to unite, not divide. Maybe even . . . someone kind of like Obama? Or was he too "dyed in the wool Democrat?" or too "entrenched," or too far "right" or "left," or "too socialist?" or, or, or ... Hell, do we even know what "right," left" or "center" are anymore? After, frankly, decades of right-wing propaganda and dishonest smear broadcast on so many widespread media networks and outlets all over the heartland-- which really began to ramp up with the likes of Limbaugh in the late '80s/early '90s-- I'm not sure. In all of our raging back and forth would we even recognize a "visionary" attuned to the will of the citizens if he/she came up and bit us in the ass? And could such a visionary truly advance the will of citizens in such a corporate-controlled "democracy," which only seems to become more sold out as each year passes, as we childishly bicker among ourselves on various distracting divide-and-conquer smokescreen issues?

I'm not so sure.

We are strangers in a strange land. 'Strangers in Their Own Land"
I spend a lot of time reading about world war one, seems so many of our current events go back to then. A hundred years later we are still living with the consequences of 'The War That Ended Peace'

Personally, I don't think we could find a more visionary leader than our own dear president tweet. I find his vision appalling, but what the heck. He has got that "vision thing"

Vision Thing
The Sisters of Mercy
Twenty-five whores in the room next door
Twenty-five floors and I need more
I'm looking for the can in the candy store
Two thousand Hamburg four
And colours I ain't seen before
It's a small world and it smells funny
I'd buy another if it wasn't for the money
Take back what I paid
For another motherfucker in a motorcade
In a long black car
With the prettiest shit
From Panama
When the sirens wail
And the lights flash blue
My vision thing come
Slamming through
It's a small world and it smells bad
I'd buy another if I had
Back
What I paid
For another motherfucker in a motorcade
Slamming through
Slamming through
What do wee need to make our world come alive?
What does it take to make us sing?
While we're waiting for the next one to arrive?
One million points of light
One…

seems the next charismatic champion
will need to reject the major parties
bought and sold to the highest corporate bidder
a revolutionary party born from the grassroots
of pain and misery that spreads like the wildfires
in California, but first we have to ask...will we ever
have a fair election again ?...it's super simple to hack the machines
change the votes, the corruption is over the top
the criminals wear three piece suits, eat Beluga caviar
and have this strange disdain for the average joe
drunk on more more more, in this perverted contest
of total conquering, like a game of Risk or Monopoly
where the winner destroys or bankrupts the losers
Bots and Trolls, disinformation, lying, are merely tools
in the box, to pull out when one needs to crush someone
muddy the water, cause a stir as the pickpocket slits your pants
and your wallet drops into his hand...all the cons
are amped up on Red Bull and Viagra and the proletariat
is taking it up the ass, weak and unable to resist...
so who will this working class hero be....it's hard to imagine

I see probably noisy mayorities an no leader in our scenario … I would like to say I see empowered mayorities, other managment of lidership and no need to have a unique Leader... but we are absolutist presidentialists, still capitalists or something like that and enough stupid so I guess the thing is still green & problematic...

There hasn't been a clear "choice" for decades and more, so you have to wonder about the game. And if you're a bobbing dittohead, firmly entrenched on any one "side" of things according to your favorite screamers, then good luck... And if the only possible real reason to "vote" for any of these clowns in DC is how one "side" or another might gain control (or keep the other "side" from gaining control) of the Supreme Court, then the system is pretty much broken anyhow..

"That vision thing, Bush 1 wondered about.
I am in Post-trump mode
We need a woman's vision in the executive office.
Not any woman, we need a woman who can play guitar like a man

just give one thing I can hang on to
