Well I Did Something Unique!!!!

This month marks the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of the american poet Robert Penn Warren. The post office has issued a stamp in honor of him. I decided that I too would honor him as well. So in my own way I made up two postcards with an image that I found of him in book that I located at the library. One has been sent to his birth place in Guthrie Kentucky and the other to his gravesite in Stratton Vermont. I wish I could have scanned the two cards so you could seen for yourself. But I can described to you how they look. The image of Robert Penn Warren shows him sitting on a bed with his shirt off. It was taken during the early eighties by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. I used this for the front of the cards. Then on the back of the one I sent to his birthplace I typed up in somewhat big letters "Robert Penn Warren Recognized". I took that from the title of his poem "Love Recognized". Where as the one I sent to his burial place I instead wrote it down. I then found a poem of his in which the last words are "come home". I made a copy of it and added it to that card. Then I finally got the stamps that have him on it and completed it. I hope that both of those cards make it okay to their destinations.
