Neoliberalism – the ideology at the root of all our problems

So pervasive has neoliberalism become that we seldom even recognise it as an ideology. We appear to accept the proposition that this utopian, millenarian faith describes a neutral force; a kind of biological law, like Darwin’s theory of evolution. But the philosophy arose as a conscious attempt to reshape human life and shift the locus of power.

Some people have been calling it "Corporatism," and/or "Randian/ism." But yes, maybe those are just sub-aspects of the whole thing.

many of my friends on the left don't want to entertain this...it's as if I've become some kind of a radical wingnut

I never heard of neoliberalism until I read a post by Veronica about it. aPParently it trashed the economies of more than one South American government.
