Why Care? Why Get Angry?

Post by mnaz » November 12th, 2019, 11:21 am

It's not like I'm doing much to help any crisis, large or small, hustlin' off to some office every damn day to scrape up a buck, wallowing in my own self-absorbed story in my few hours of "free time" every week. I got no call. Why should I even listen to my own bullshit?

I've NEVER been political. It needs to STAY that way. It's out of my depth. I'll stick with lesser forms of corrosion.

poetry must be the least corrosive form of creation.
Thank you for the poetry, no matter how angry you get when you write. It is a vital part of my day. I often feel like Steve Martin the "all I need" schene in The Jerk:
all I need is your poetry, Calvin and Hobbes, JJ Cale, Studio Eight, Drugs, Sex, and rock and roll

Random Quote of the day

Cut and Paste:
“It is what it is”,

is it not?

Or is it?

Isn’t it what it is?

or could it be that it isn’t?

but if it isn’t what it is,

what is it?

Perhaps it is what it is,

except, until, or unless it isn’t

Don’t take reality for granted

don’t be afraid to ask the big questions

being an confused- atheist with however strong spiritual leanings towards some granting of the fact that there is a higher power, greater than my self, the AA prayer - drilled into me as a young boy year after year has been a useful rudder i my life.

without being preachy:
god grand me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change.

courage to change the thing I can.
and the wisdom to know the difference.
this is the very best which I am able to offer. in the tsunami of bullshit, flooding our every cell; pore and being.

the only form of government never adopted ever adopted by a state ever is, anarchy.

Hi Jack
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom always to tell the difference.' Among the things Billy Pilgrim could not change were the past, the present, and the future.”. ― Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five.
Latin, homo unius libri) is generally attributed to Thomas Aquinas
I think I have read more of his novels than any other author.
Some of my dearest friends believe in G d. When I mention Vonnegut they ask me, WASN'T HE AN AETHIEST?
I don't why that matters to them. I love them so I shine it on. I never use the word, God, if I can help it. I don't believe in it either, just a word.
When I try to write about religion I spell it G d. I am crazy jack son of crazy Mike. I am grateful my father raised me as a Jewish atheist. He had no shame in being born a Jew. In fact, I think he was grateful.
Please PARDON my racism.

Maybe so but it still feels dead, poetry or not. Ya gotta right to be ANGRY, to make this America GREAT; the economy runs on noise. And go get a gun if ya feel yr freedom's at stake, because ya gotta right to shoot ... Guns Guns Guns ... It's Culture! Well at least now we know Hoffa's body is buried somewhere in Jersey because one of those mobsters' kids got bored and spilled; read it today on FOX, which are just three capitalized letters.

Mobsters everywhere.

Really should just unplug The News...

What good does it do to despair?

I appreciate your tolerance of my quirk posts.
That remark about Satan for example.
Thinking about all those evangelicals for president by tweet
and the wall of words that separate us from them. That web of lies.
In the beginning,? was the word and so the father of lies was born.
I do believe in spooks, I do.
Remember Joel? I miss his posts.

I mean, why care? Why get angry? If we're just going to keep doing the same greed and drugs and lies over and over. Gets boring after awhile..
