I read both the piece to which you linked and also the more comprehensive government paper on the subject. I find this completely fascinating. The notion of deliberate alteration of one's body chemistry to achieve specific effects has been one of interest to me since I read Brave New World when I was about fourteen.

This fascination took me down some pretty odd paths.
