I talked to my sister this past weekend about the "presidential" situation. I swear, four years ago, Biden said he was running as a one-term president, to pull us from the jaws of Trumpistic bullshit, back toward basic normalcy. Which essentially worked, despite a few missteps. By now, it's obvious that Trump will never lose his hardcore base, but a significant portion of his more centrist/"swing" support eroded over the last 4+ years as his crap and lies continued to pile up, and too many of his hand-picked candidates lost elections in '20 and '22 (and '18 as well). If the Democratic Party had concerns and wanted to replace Biden, they should've been on it at least a year ago, not at this late stage.
If We the People actually reelect Trump, then that's on us. It's not as if we don't know what this guy is all about, 8 years after he burst onto our political scene. We'll get what we deserve.

I saw another good descriptor today, one I hadn't seen before: "Firehose of lies"

I can't imagine anyone over the age of 12 declaring that not many people were aware that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, or over the age of 4 staring at the sun during an eclipse. Let's all chip in to help him on his way to Venezuela.

I really hate how the election turned out. At least we had four years in between to slightly recover from Trump's first term'.
We'll get through this term, too. I'll bet things will change for the better in the House of Representatives in two years.
I really appreciate all Kamala Harris did and said. She picked a good running mate, also. Really sad that the voting public was so "fickle".
