Mishandling Holy Texts

like other news agencies, Fox News reported on the news that U.S. soldier's splashed a Koran with urine; more accurately, Fox news mentioned the story and imediately lept into apologetics for it ('Well, splahing a Koran with urine isn't as bad as the terrorists blowing up buildings and using car bombs!') The headline-title chosen for their coverage was "Koran Mishandled." Thinking that was an oddly euphemistic way to phrase it, I checked the dictionary for the definition of "mishandle" and lo and behold it read as follows:
mis*han*dle (v.tr.) 1. to deal with poorly or inefficiently; 2. to treat roughly or maltreat. 3. to splash or sprinkle with urine. e.g. "Carl, who was using the bathroom stall next to mine, mishandled my shoes."
