Why liberalism is anti-liberal

A consequence of liberalism is that it generates incompetence.
Let's say one day a high placed guy in a multinational has one person to promote, not to take his place but to go one step higher, ie closer to him.
Because the high placed guy's a liberal, he'd probably hire the most competent person avaliable, for the benefit of the enterprise.
Except that he reached where he is now by dealing with very competent people, and if he promotes someone who's good, and therefore give that someone an occasion to rise up even more after that, it'll potentially threaten his position. That's why, to avoid competition, he'd rather hire someone incompetent and counter-productive, who doesn't represent a menace.
And that's how incompetent people can find themselves in very high places.

Not sure what it is called, maybe Peter Principle?
Every one rises until he reaches his level of incompetence.
Yes here it is.
in evolution systems tend to develop up to the limit of their adaptive competence
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Peter Principle was first introduced by L. Peter in a humoristic book (of the same title) describing the pitfalls of bureaucratic organization. The original principle states that in a hierarchically structured administration, people tend to be promoted up to their "level of incompetence".

not exactly what you are saying but parallel
the guy who won't promote a more able person has reached his level of incompetence?

I'm not sure what your example has to do with "liberalism", per se.
Corporate/office power politics, maybe, but "liberalism"?

Indeed, I have found this to be true in my job of searching for a job, which is pretty much fulltime and I hear this alot, although they usually just call it being "overqualified".
Makes it kinda cool to be unemployed, knowing you're just too good for the jobs out there anymore.....eh?
Heh

Mine has to do with incompetence; I think your post has more to do with office politics? No idea what you are talking about with the liberalism thing. That is not a smart-ass remark Mr. Mnaz. That is a request for more info please. Do you mean a conservative would do things different? The peter principle applies across the board. It would not matter what flavor the bosses politics are.
Help me understand what your post has to do with liberalism
Maybe the problem is I don't know what liberalism is, I think of democrats and republicans and conservatives and politics
please

because the guy who is doing the hiring and promoting has reached his level of incompetence. If he was a competent manager he would do what needed to be done. Maybe that is the point? Would a hard core hard nosed self confident manager do doze things?
sorry but a guy who is so scared about losing his job don't sound competent to me. No balls.
sounds like a whimp to me.
hey i dont know nothing
forget about it.

the problem with "liberalism" -- the word -- is that people used it to make commentarties without knowing, or seeking to define, what is the meaning of the term.
