Join Veterans for Peace to leaflet students at Lakewood High School, St. Petersburg about military recruiters.

Veterans for Peace will be going to Lakewood High School(1400 54th Avenue South) this Friday, August 26, at 6:15am to leaflet students about their right to opt out of being contacted by military recruiters and to give them information that will aid them in their decisions. We will be there about one hour. If you are interested, meet us in the parking lot of the Lake Vista Recreation Center 1400 62nd Avenue South (entrance on 14th Street) You do not have to be a veteran but you do have to be committed to non-violence.

The Pinellas County school administration has denied veterans the right to furnish information and to speak to students about the military service. Apparently students and parents are to be denied the right to learn about information that would help them make an informed decision. The school administration's action is unacceptable and we are taking other action to overturn it. We will greatly appreciate your support.

Peace,

Dwight Lawton
Have also signed on with a Pinellas educational contact as a Vet fopr Peace speaker id the opps should happen by invitation.

Pinellass County. Tampa Bay.

Updates on this to follow.
If I dissappear from Studio Eight, you will know I am either in jail or in hospital or worse.

This has a potential for some shall we say tension, already police were at the first such counter-recruiting demo, so will have a report coming in.
