The Masaï people

I think the most interesting attribute of the Masai people is their alimentation, which is mainly composed of the milk and blood of their cattle.
They don't kill their cattle to take their blood. The way they do it is by shooting an arrow at the neck of the animal (to hit the artery), at close range, so that the arow makes a cut without getting planted in the flesh. The blood that pours from the wound is let to drip in a gourd, and some kind of bandage is finally applied on the wound for it to heal.
also read that they rarely kill their cattle for meat, but wait for it to die naturally.

Masai warriors don't eat (well, drink) anything else. The rest eat a few extras, but not much.

I also read that their number is diminishing, and that they decided to stop having children. They decided that they spent the time they had to spend on Earth, and that they're ready to live... somewhere else now. (this might be for just one of the Masai tribes, I read this some years back)

The article in the link gives a few other details, and ends by talking about it's problems with (aha, surprise) the western culture.
