Real Hardball
by John Kerry
Fri Jan 20, 2006 at 03:52:31 PM PDT

There's something that doesn't sit right with me when, on the day Osama Bin Laden resurfaced in a disturbing audio tape, cable television ends up in a game of name calling as a war protester is compared to Osama Bin Laden.

That's reason to be outraged - but even more outrageous is the fact that in a flurry of sound bites what was lost was a real discussion of the fact that more than four years after the devastating attacks of 9/11, more than four years after George Bush boasted we wanted Osama "dead or alive," more than a year after Osama Bin Laden showed his hateful face in yet another video, this barbarian is still very much alive and boasting of additional attacks against the United States.

That's been my stance all along: Bush is inept - because he got 'the wrong man.' And every time I’ve said that to even the most stanch Bush supporter, I’ve stopped them cold. Everything else aside; this fact works. So I say ~ Go Kerry! And I hope this ‘fact’ comes back to not only haunt Bush & Co ~ and ONLY Bush & Co … but to bring him down, and out of office.

also ... There are some important link-backs in the full article/blog by John Kerry - one of them is this one:

Did the US really let bin Laden get away?
Bush, Cheney continue to deny Kerry charge that they let the Al Qaeda leader escape in 2001.

In the week leading up to the US presidential election, the Bush campaign still finds itself answering renewed challenges on its handling of the war on terror.

I'd list the whole articles, but it's too long ~ (imo) certainly worth reading though.

too little toolate from Kerry, one of the biggest dissappointments of my life. I mean, after coming home from the Vietnam War, my refusal of duty in 1972, marching with Kerry and the VVAW, hoping for years that Kerry would get a shot at the presidency, then seeing him vote to support the Iraq War, altho he said it was a nuanced vote, and running an absolutely awful campaign, leaving himself open to the wolves and defeat, man when the votes were counted, I said to myself, fuck him.

we all know that the Iraq War was a huge distraction from not only getting Oh Sama, but also from domestic problems like mine safety, hurricaine preparidness, domestic violence, etc. it all serves the elitist model.

nice to see the blog tho as i said way too little toolate. and do de man return the responses? i bet not. it's his little fireside chat.

man am i angry.

I recognise of course that the man has not said he made a mistake in voting to give Dumbya war powers also he has continued to say how he was misslead by the intel reports from the Dumbya. Funny at best, the dilemma of most Dumbocrats.

Where is the political courage? You will fimd it in a few congressional reps, at this point and in a few senators. They are from the courageous wing of the Democrats.

Kerry wants to make specific points about why "we" didn't get Bin Laden, but he was in collusin by default because he eschewed taking a stand agin the Iraq War.

too little toolate from Kerry...

I think you're right. Better late than never ... and will ultimately help, in the long run ... but he's not effective in the immediate.

Where is the political courage? You will fimd it in a few congressional reps, at this point and in a few senators.

Yeah. Gore, in his MLK day speech, pin-pointed the issues we are facing in detail (like Zlatko’s Scott Ritter's posting above), and not just with or about Bush & Co, but he also nailed those in his own Democratic party as well as those in the House & Senate.

Gore we voted Green
the pied piper went away
BushCo had his way

let the one without guilt cast the first stone
we are all imperfect
have come up short at times,
could be doing more right now
and yet, we stay connected somehow
finding meaningful pockets of insight
out of our growing selves
at least we're growing
and someday it will show
somehow
hut i believe that had gore won in 2000
we'd be infinately better off right now
and so hope that he will either campaign
for himself or for the democratic party
his intellectualism is apparant as his clarity
on the real state of the union.
