I watched the President today, oh boy....

He was speaking to college students in Kansas, explaining about his leadership regarding the Iraq war and how though he knows there are objectors to what he is doing, he feels he is doing the right thing and is going to stay the course. The applause was deafening. I could only wonder, who are these people in Kansas clapping so ardently for this man?
There were questions and answers as well. The majority of the questions were hardly decipherable within all of the accolades being expressed by the students. One student, from Iraq thanked him for giving freedom to her country, to 27 million people. Another, from Venezuela asked about the border patrol problems and about how it can become legal for aliens to work in this country. George talked about the fact that there are jobs in this country that "americans won't do" and that the Hispanics should be allowed guest cards to the do the work that "americans don't want to do"
What is this work that Americans don't want to do?
The highlight for me was when one of the students asked George if he had seen "brokeback mountain" yet and suggested that he certainly go see it. There was laughter, and there was George, in a shining homophobic moment.
Egads.
