For those of you, like me, who want a news source that goes beyond the groomed television images and the corporate cant of big American business and military juntas, let me recommend a website.

The website truthout.org features some of my favorite political writers and analysts. It differs from Antiwar.com in that its focus is a kind of blend of commondreams.org and the antiwar perspective.
The coverage of the recent victory in business against the forces of darkness-- the Enron verdicts-- is excellent, for example. Full and forceful ongoing coverage of the political scandals starring prominent Republicans and The Big Rat Jack Abramoff are fully analyzed.
