XXVIII: Marriage will be defined as the union between one man and one woman... anything else will just not appeal to our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ Almighty on High.
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty (except for homosexuals, lesbians, bi-sexuals and trans-sexual) to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Every two years, like clockwork. Rally the far-right bigot base. There's an election coming up.
To understate the excruciatingly obvious, this is an outrage.

hi, mnaz!
mnaz: "To understate the excruciatingly obvious, this is an outrage."
mt: Truly! To further attempt to split the Union over a religious belief, (which, it goes without saying, is against the division of government and religion), is but a desperation, hail-mary from Bush.
I really believe our current Congress has no clue regarding our Constitution and invest in the wants of Dubya over the needs of the people.
A reminder to Congress: Article I, Sec. 7 includes only Congress can declare war. Was Dubya's Iraq War declared by Congress or only agreed to by Bush's wants? The answer is obvious, eh? Clearly an impeachable offense.

You must be thinking of someone else, are you refering to Jesus Christ of Midland Texas?
Ignore him? ignore him! he sits at the center of their councils, He is what makes them so dangerous, as christian soldiers marching off to war. What you need to do is only read and watch and listen to things and people you agree with. filter out the enemy completely. only read other peoples columns about the enemy, listen to the pundits you agree with, ditto heads of the left, do not do not I reapeat do not observe and listen or read your enemies words yourself, do not watch his preachers hammering away at their flocks. find a flock of like minded beleivers like your self, hip, interlectual scoffers and mockers, there you will be comfortable
Jesus was an fag.

It is going to be a long war Cecil. Us americans don't run. from the smell of the Profit, and a good bottom line. It could be a very very nastyy mess before the american people have had enogh, the constitution may be a burning ember when it is over, but it will be over, and we will move on. Old men get so gloomy about the future, my future ain't what it used to be. I think about all the kids graduating from somewhere they are full of hope and joy anticipating life to come. I say elect a 12 year old genuis from a small town in Iowa president,
Rlect her or him now while they still have all the answers.
these are the good old days.

Americans don't run from what will win an election, , nothing to do but run on issues like gay marriage, flag burning, abortion, the ten commandments, or the enviorment. If there is a democract or third party candidate smart enough to win he will keep a low profile on the war, and then when he gets in office he will make his moves. There is no sense in making an issue of the war, read that post by WD below this from Salon. It is all about hidden persuauders, smoke and mirrors.
Resolved: America great! Bin Laden evil! Go Bush!
Not even the inventor of "freedom fries" could stand to be present at the GOP-controlled Congress' absurd "debate" over Iraq.

Sorry cecil, rambled and ranted all over this one
There are few politicians in congress that I have any hope for. There is a line from a douglas adams novel i like (
kind of a koan I think almost, )"anyone who is capable of getting him or her self elected president of the united states, should not be allowed to run."
quoted from my faulty memory
I have more faith in the soldiers fighting this war, and the veterans who are supporting them. And in the Gold Star Mothers and families. Hard for them to get their voices heard in a our corporate free press.
I think it is just a matter of time before a western city gets nuked in this holy war. I think they already have the weapons, it is our peace dividend for f*cking over Russia during the Regan years.
we may all as well be dead
so what the hell
let's be brave

Jesus was called the Prince of Peace, no? (And this is the original Jesus Christ, as in founder of Christ-ianity, that we're talking about, isn't it?) I don't know what kind of catastrophic (induced) End Times cult these so-called "Zionist" bastard bigots might be following, but surely it has little to do with Christ-ianity.... Trip my trigger, indeed. Every time.

Jesus' name has been besmirched by the...well intentioned? zealots. I wonder if he's irate?
I don't think he gets mad I think he gets even by fairplay means.
I'll defend Jesus to the end; but his spokesmen/women?...gag citay! Puke...
I'm sure Christians are well intentioned but they always seem to be tripping over their own forked tongues and their own wisdom!
It's enough to make a Yak yak.
I don't know why I speak at all...
waasted words waasted words
should just stand in the corner...droolin'
I'm not talking to anyone in particular just wagging my tongue...er...tapping my fingers.
Is it a full moon...I feel like baying at it.

It seems like Jesus would have said to him "Not In My Name"
I mean if that was really Jesus Christ talking at him.
He may be like the fellow who wrote Amazing Grace, saved from a storm at sea he was "Saved" by the grace of G d. But being saved did not prevent him from continuing in the slave trade for another 30 years. When did George get saved? I think he has about another ten years until it sinks in. Them things take time.
As far as I can tell from my minimal reading Jesus Christ was not the founder of Christianity. I think Nietzsche points the finger at Paul. There seemed to be a power struggle between Peter and Paul about taking the Gospel to the goyim.
I wish I knew something. I wonder about everything. When I was a kid I used to walk into telephone poles cause I was so busy pondering inponderables. All it has got me is older and around.
I let my life slip away. Better late than never.

For What It’s Worth
Stephen Stills, 1966
There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Gimme Back My Bullets
PASTE
"Until then the ignominious death had seemed to him the chief argument against the Messianic claim of which the new doctrine spoke: but what if it were necessary to get rid of the law?
The tremendous consequences of this idea, of this solution of the riddle, spin before his eyes; at one stroke he becomes the happiest man; the destiny of the Jews--no, of all men--seems to him to be tied to this idea, to this second of its sudden illumination; he has the thought of thoughts, the key of keys, the light of lights; it is around him that all history must revolve henceforth. For he is from now on the teacher of the annihilation of the law...
This is the first Christian, the inventor of Christianity. Until then there were only a few Jewish sectarians. "

As far as I'm concerned, Jesus should be taken as the founder of Christian faith, whereas Paul and a host of other theologically-obsessed preachers ever since are builders of the Christian church, or doctrine in all its variations and factions, many of which seem to bear little resemblance to the words and life of Christ himself. For a man who built up a doctrine of God's grace and love as our universal salvation, not of our works, Paul sure did seem to obsess over specific "moral" behavior at times.
But Paul did have a point about "moving beyond" Mosaic law, and all of its many many esoteric, even extreme statutes, even if we still acknowledge their functions relative to the specific challenges of its people, its day, etc. Too bad certain fascist-type Xtian gay-bashing zealots can't let go of their favorite pet verse, Leviticus 18:22, in the same fashion....
