Voter referenda -- chance for direct deomcracy? or chance for the people to be confused and manipulated by misleading descriptions of overly complex laws, that thereby get stamped as approved by the people, when all that has occured is that lobbiests have succeeded in railroading laws into place that the people never intended to approve. guess ya see where i lean. i mean, has anybody seen the voter guide in california? it is like 150 pages thick, the summaries of the choices of proposed laws is all that most people will ever read, if at all, and that was prepared by the government -- not very neutral or trustworthy.
