How to End the War NOW
Posted: July 25th, 2006, 10:20 am
We need to get out and get out now.
Warmongers with revenge on their minds insist we need to “stay the course”. Of course, this is bullshit.
Bill Clinton was no saint and he pulled some bad shit in his day. He had his Monica, too.
CEO Bush doesnt have a Monica. He’s got the entire American population. Instead of sucking him off under the desk, we’re being repeatedly abused by this worthless shit in a manner considered illegal in most of the states who got the motherfucker elected in the first and second places.
Sometimes, failure comes slowly. Sometimes, it’s not easy to recognize failure. But in Iraq, failure was assured before we invaded. The administration never had a plan and therefore started out on completely the wrong path. We can spend more years and more lives there, killing more people for no reason, pretending that success as the administration has defined it, incompetently after the fact, is still somehow possible, or we can just act like adults and realize that it’s over. The path to success was ignored more than 3 years ago and now is separated from the road we’re on by millions of miles of rough terrain filled with mines, dangerous aliens from outer space, and rabid hippos. It’s futile trying to get back.
Sure, you right wing hawks, you can criticize me for being defeatist. But, your neocons were the ones who lost this one. Dont blame the messenger. I’m just bringing you the facts. You lost.
Bush, you worthless shit, you lost because you’re stupid. You lost because you’re ignorant and foolish. You’re arrogant and wrong, and you have no idea how to run a nation much less a military. You dont belong in office. Any office. You belong in the dumpster, with half-eaten McDonald’s food and bags of dog shit.
Here is how we end the war:
Get out now. Announce that we are getting out. We arent going to leave a vaccuum, however.
The first thing we do is ask the insurgency what their demands are.
Then we ask that a UN force, heavily funded by the US, will move in for peacekeeping and rebuilding. But only on the assurance that the insurgency will allow them to work and that the UN force will meet the insurgency’s demands.
For the next year, we will shift all spending that we would have made in Iraq to the UN force. It will be made up, necessarily, of troops from other countries. Because having any US presence there, right now, because of Bush and his asshole buddies, is completely fucked. They fucked it up. But we have to accept that it’s fucked up and MOVE ON .
I dont mean the billions per day we’re “spending” on Iraq will be handed over to the UN. Because that figure it comprised not only of capital exchange, but also of vehicle maintanance, troop payroll, etc. But spending should be moved. I dont know how much that would be, but I’d rather all of it go to the UN instead of to Bush’s military folly.
Once the UN troops are in place, we do all we can to facilitate dialogue and dialogue only. We fund it in full for one year, then we start stepping back in monthly increments, so that something can be maintained and shared. We need the world’s help to fix Bush’s fuckup. We must ask for it and be reasonable about it, not pretend that we can win the war simply by blowing up more children and US military personnel with no end in sight.
We must speak with the insurgency. We must get buy-in from the sectarian leaders in Iraq. Perhaps Iraq needs to be divided into sectarian nations and then protected by the UN. I dont know. But we have to work towards peace, not work towards endless war.
This is a way to get out of Iraq now. This could happen in weeks, and our troops can come home and the US can start rebuilding its reputation around the world.
This won’t happen, because the stupidity and arrogance of our administration goes beyond all reason and logic. We are “staying the course” because Bush is too much of a fucking pussy to admit that he lost this war 4 years ago when he was planning it. He’s pretending that the mistakes he’s made in the past 2-3 years are the cause for delay, but they are not. They simply caused more loss of life. But the endgame was determined well before that, when the DNA that built Bush’s brain and Rove’s brain and Cheney’s brain and Rumsfeld’s brain and all the rest of the brains of the neocons was still planting its stupidity.
Lets not be as stupid as Bush. Lets insist that we get the fuck out and get the fuck out NOW.
