when Joe announced he'd run anyway despite losing the Democratic party's nomination, he proved exactly what his opponent was agruing all along -- that Lieberman was not acting like a true Democrat in the Senate.

Lieberman reveals himself to a private-interest driven opportunist and a hypocrit to boot, since he did not stand up for Ralpf Nader's right to run a third-party campaign in opposition to both Gore (Lieberman's running mate) and Bush in 2000. Now, when it suits him, old Joe is avoiding partisanship.

In the future, the devil will have to create a new circle in Dante's Inferno reserved for Democrats who suported Bush and his war.

lieberman was always a shit. he was a pro-censorship hawk the whole way thru. fuck him. connecticut cant elect anyone worthwhile anyway. the whole state is a fucked situation of elitism vs poverty. all politicians are greedhead capitalist whores. what happened to our politicians being representatives? well, i guess they had elected a rep in conn in joe. shithead.

His loss was the only good news I have had this week.

Cheney: Lieberman Loss ‘Disturbing’ Because al Qaeda Is ‘Betting They Can Break The Will of The American People’

As the Mideast sits on the brink of regional war, Vice President Dick Cheney spent his time yesterday holding a teleconference to discuss the outcome of the Democratic Senate primary in Connecticut.

Cheney said that to “purge a man like Joe Lieberman” was “of concern, especially over the issue of Joe’s support with respect to national efforts in the global war on terror.” He explained:

"The thing that’s partly disturbing about it is the fact that, the standpoint of our adversaries, if you will, in this conflict, and the al Qaeda types, they clearly are betting on the proposition that ultimately they can break the will of the American people in terms of our ability to stay in the fight and complete the task."

Cheney’s argument assumes that the war in Iraq is helping the United States defeat terrorists. He’s wrong. His own State Department found last April that Iraq had become a safe haven for terrorists and attracted a “foreign fighter pipeline” linked to terrorist plots, cells and attacks throughout the world. An overwhelming bipartisan majority (84%) of national security experts believe we are losing the war on terror, and 87 percent think Iraq has had a negative impact.

Cheney should spend less time analyzing the Democratic primary in Connecticut and more time acknowledging the administration’s critical policy failures and trying to fix them. (A good place to start is the American Progress plan, Strategic Redeployment 2.0.)

I'm so fucking sick and tired of this administration and congress... their whoring for the corporate good, their lies, deceits and secretiveness. Something's got to give to wake up the public. If this shit continues I fear for the country... I really do.

our government threatens our very existence. they fail to provide for their people who are most in need, and they serve the tiniest wealthy class.

it's pretty simple, really. if we dont fight for ourselves, all the billions of people in the world who hate america will kill us as a proxy for our government and wealthy class they cant get to.

I been hearing the word, defeatist a lot lately. Here is a conspiracy theory for you firsty. They know they are going to get their asses kicked in the November elections. The best thing that could happen for them. Then they can blame the catostrophic end of the war on Iraq on those defeatist democrats. Leaves them in good shape to keep the executive office in 08.

yah but some assholes in America are now putting Leiberman in McCain'z camp, the "bipartisan" politicos who really want to end gridlock, another diversion from the awful truth that the hounds are upon us.
