i remember the first time i saw a large pollack painting like that
before i even really knew about his art,
it was after i had dropped out of an mba program for the second time,
after several years of unflagging failures and inability to adjust to civilian life, anti-war as i was as well,
when i developed an interest in art, mercy,
saved my soul, it was my ship across years of troubled waters,
an i walked into this gallery at the detroit art institute,
there it was, mercy,
a sudden overwhelming visual shockwave,
proto-in·dig·e·nous flashbacks.
a force of energy,
helped save my life,
tho the artist perished in flames.
