Just curious:
Why are you going?
Freud said that human behavior is over determined. I could probably think of reasons from E to Z. But this is what I ask myself.
A) I could use a break from the grind
B) It sounds like fun and there might be some Quaker Babes there.
C) I have to do something, some small gesture, an action.
D) None or all of the above.
If I can raise ten bucks between now and monday i am going here.

The Top 5 Reasons Why I Am Protesting George W. Bush’s Agenda.
(I did this rather quickly and late at night, so forgive any mistakes on my part.)
#5. Theocracy is slowly taking over, as evidenced by the refusal to teach basic scientific theories on grounds that they are anti-Christian and the refusal to grant people their civil rights and liberties on the grounds that their practices are un-Christian.
#4. The American Government has openly admitted the existence of secret prisons around the world and the use of torture in those prisons. And they justify it. Not to mention that despite Bush’s assurances that America is safer, it really isn’t. A bad storm is all it takes to wipe out one major city ( and one year later, residents of that city are still homeless).
#3. A general repulsion to the Republican agenda in general, highlighted by their refusal to teach only abstinence, not birth control in schools, their refusal to allow the theory of evolution in science classes, and if it is, then along with Creationism (which has no place in a science class), their sympathy with corporations and businesses and not with human beings, and their hypocritical claims to a “Culture of Life” while supporting the death penalty and wars. Oh, and a complete disregard for the environment.
# 2 The War in Iraq, but not the War in Afghanistan. I can understand why we are in Afghanistan, even though I do not entirely approve of it. The links between 9-11, Al-Qaeda, and Afghanistan seem clear enough. Also, I believe that the general well-being of Afghanistan has and will improve. On top of that, my sister serves in Afghanistan, and if she dies, I don’t want to believe she died in vain. But that’s entirely a personal reason. However, I do not understand why we are in Iraq. Why? Because the Bush Administration has given completely different reasons at different times, and none of them seemed to have been based in fact. I can not see an immediate end to this war, and I think George Bush is a giant pussy for dumping his shit on the next president. He has no exit-strategy, because he will be out of office in two years.
#1 This is my own personal grievance against the Republican Party, The Bush Administration, and George W. Bush. I am gay. I can not legally be married. I can not legally have sex (sodomy is still illegal!), I have no federal protection from discrimination, and I could not serve in the military if I wanted to (and I don’t). I’m not a very angry person, but if you want to piss me off, tell me I do not deserve, not is it my right, to have any of the above.
Because I’m just generally lazy, here are 59 reasons to hate Bush.

b - it's rare to hear such a well articulated essay about bush's actual policy problems. i appreciate it. i'm so caught up in the criminal aspect of it, i sometimes fail to remember that even the things he tells the truth about are horrendous. thanks.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

now have more local calls for demos coming up
i made an awesome sign for 9-11: speak truth to power
will post it next week , yellow & black
but it wears on me
mercy
made a phone call to a congressman, fazio, in support of suzanne swift,
have a letter or two to send out today to the militarios and possibly others on behalf of ehren watada
mercy
but the demos are tough
altho i did get to stand with the women in pink, will have a shot of them as well.
