last nite's "daily show"
Posted: September 14th, 2006, 11:39 am
was fantastic.
it's replayed tonite at 8 pm on comedy central.
the first bit is wonderful - talking about how cable news shows use the question mark in order to say things without really saying things, like foxnews putting on its graphic: "best president ever?"
it's a wonderfully-conceived and executed segment.
the middle bit is pretty good, but standard fare.
the interview, however, is also wonderful. with an author of a book on republican campaign strategy and how it simply works. stewart asks: why cant the republican's policies be as successful as its policies.
good question.
but even better is the perspective it puts on the dems' campaign strategies, how their inability to plan and focus played right into the republicans' hands.
it is not to be missed. catch it tonite.
