British troops are planning to move out.
I think Prince Harry did it.
It's interesting to have 2 points of view.

The British media talks about Prince Harry wanting to fight and risk his life with the others, having to protect himself under a damaged armoured vehicle, although I haven't heard anything about them withdrawing on the BBC.

The French media says that British troops are planning to move out of Irak completely by 2008, but they never mentionned anything about Prince Harry.

I think he was the last straw, the last drop that created a domino effect and led superiors to think "all right, let's stop this, this is just silly".

Meanwhile the US starts building walls.

In a way, I think this experience could be good for the white house, on the long term.
I think their strategies have been passed on for centuries by people who systematically ignored win-win strategies, because they could afford it. Now they put themselves in a situation where force against force an divide-and-conquer don't work.

Things we say to TV

Post by Jenni Mansfield Peal » April 28th, 2007, 12:42 am

I'm with you, HP

I started a list a long time ago of things I have to say to TV.
Then I stopped watching.
I get my news from the internet now, and can cross-reference stories.
I don't have much to say back at that - I'm mainly speechless.

Yeah, their all confessin now. Dems, Repubs, CIA......
"they couldn't tell us what they knew ...."
Fucking hell! WHY NOT??????????????????/
They committed crimes by keeping silent!!!!!
Spineless selfish fucks.
And now the media is confessin too.
How that "mission accomplished" shit was just a photo-op. Old GW dressed up in Military gear and codpiece. That was embarrassing enough. Now, the media is confessing that it was all a sham, that "if you look closely, you can see San Diego in the distance off the boat..."
Spineless selfish fucks again.
We knew it. We were right.
We were under surveillance so they could shut us up if they thought we might protesteth too much.
The shit is going to hit the fan.
Take all your money out of the bank, cash paychecks immediately, the stocks are gonna go to hell in a handbasket now that Chavez is pulling out of the world bank. Get euro dollars at least.
Help others of like mind.
Lets all stick together here okay...??

I'm really frightened

I am puckered up in texas too
but I don't think it is the money

the last of my worries
I got a half a pack of Merit Ultima's
and a thirty dollar paycheck
and only a week and half till my next pay check
I always got the metafiscal blues
just part of the forlorn rags of old age for me

and it is "hard to run with the weight of gold,
lead too.
I been told"

hypocrites hester frauds and hypocrites, liars, the corrupt.
they are going to dante's eight circle, the maleboglia
murderers only made the seventh circle.

and I wonder why good things happen to bad people
I hardly ever talk to my tv anymore
since I got my foo dog.
I can't stand to watch Bush anymore, I stick my head in the sand. If I see his shoulder shrug and idiot giggle one more time I will puke.

The Greatest Story Ever Sold. I had to stop reading it, too painful.
I can't stand much news these days. It all seems to be nothing new. Stuff I read about years ago, all of a sudden it is breaking news.

Other than the BBC and the Jim Lehrerer News hour on PBS I don't watch my news on tv. I still prefer news papers.

I tell what little sound byte I heard the other day that blew my mind.

After the mission was accomplished in Iraq, they left hundreds and hundreds of tons of the Iraqi amunition unguarded in the desert because they did not have enough troops to secure it. So that is where the IED's came from. This was four years ago, I remember reading about in the weeks after the invasion, then the story fell off the front page. Then after four yearsI heard someone mention it last week on one of the talking head shows.

I think I more upset with the media than I am with bush. That shot on the abe lincoln all planned by the ex tv news executives working for the Bush whitehouse. Also the shot in Katrina post New Orleans. Hundreds and hundreds of generators going lighting up the french quater while he gave his speech. Then when the speech is over they shut off the juice, the city goes dark again and they pack up their generators and go back to DC.

Failed States, another book I may have to give up on.

ah shoot sorry hester
I do ramble
don't I

I think I found the perfect song for this thread

Thunder On The Mountain

It about says it all for me.

what I been hearing about the world bank is that Africa be better off without it. Maybe it is a good thing to see it go down.

crazy trucker that crashed his home in Santa Cruz
A truck makes a very fine weapon indeed.

Iraq chlorine attacks raise new concerns

THe tanker trucks are the ones that really spook me. Liquid Hydrogen, Bromine, Chlorine, Liquid Propane, stuff like that.

Here is a little trashy trucker song about a guy getting revenge with his truck

Artist/Band: Brooks Garth
Lyrics for Song: Papa Loved Mama
Lyrics for Album: Ropin' The Wind

Papa drove a truck nearly all his life
You know it drove mama crazy being a trucker's wife
The part she couldn't handle was the being alone
I guess she needed more to hold than just a telephone
Papa called Mama each and every night
Just to ask her how she was and if us kids were alright
Mama would wait for that call to come in
When Daddy'd hang up she was gone again

Mama was a looker
Lord, how she shined
Papa was a good'n
But the jealous kind
Papa loved Mama
Mama loved men
Mama's in the graveyard
Papa's in the pen

Well it was bound to happen and one night it did
Papa came home and it was just us kids
He had a dozen roses and a bottle of wine
If he was lookin' to surprise us he was doin' fine
I heard him cry for Mama up and own the hall
Then I heard a bottle break against the bedroom wall
That old diesel engine made an eerie sound
When Papa fired it up and headed into town

Well the picture in the paper showed the scene real well
Papa's rig was buried in the local motel
The desk clerk said he saw it all real clear
He never hit the brakes and he was shifting gears

Mama was a looker
Lord, how she shined
Papa was a good'n
But the jealous kind
Papa loved Mama
Mama loved men
Mama's in the graveyard
Papa's in the pen
