When I was young and stupider
I had a string of parties on New Year's
you are nobody if not invited

Then all the years when I played music for other people's parties
and at bars and nightclubs slipping in the patron's vomit

Now, New Year's is the night that I don't dare go out.
I've grown better sense.
I'll just watch the ball drop on TV

Safer that way. I want to see the new year.

So, Doreen
How will you spend 007?
Will you get the rock
to the top of the hill?

What are your New Year's Revolutions?

Will you increase your laps to decrease your lap?
Will you quit doing whatever that nasty thing it is you hate?
Will you keep track of what you smoked and what you drank and what you ate?

Will you resolve to quit doing something or start doing something?

007 has a licence to kill

I have no clue what I'll do.
Will the rock make it to the top?
And when I push it all the way up,
where to go from there?
Should I jump? Do I dare?

My only plan for revolutions
is to hang onto the planet but
really that's out of my control, dear sir.
I depend on gravity as you do.
I'm sure you will concur.

I have no plans for lapses of memory
or increasing cognizant abilities.
At least I don't remember any.

I'm thinking such endeavors may be
expensive.... useless fravilities.

hey guys, y'all woke me up.
midnight passed four and a half hours ago, so you could say
could you
that the year's all new
already

yet here i am
knees up to chest
coffee by my side

sounds a lot like yesterday

yes
it's today
double o seven
license to kill
license to be charismatic
license to be fair
dashing
impressive
license to speak truth
license to act brilliantly under all odds
license to have a license

yes
to
today

cheers
(i have to work, too. i have to be a responsible parent and help my son enter a new soccer club, register in a new school, sign in at a dorm 2 1/2 hours north of our home. yes. Make mine espresso)
