let new wine be yours to sip
as auld lang syne
is sung
and the melody of soulful wasting
lifts the spirit and floats your boat
at least ya gots a paddle when yer up the creek
it's enough ta steer ya down with the current
when yer drunk with lost illusions none to keep
and the river water is sweet and you drink as you float on down
and lift nary a paddle, there's no need to think
row row row your boat
gently down the stream
mery merily merry merrily
life is but a scream

lets forget about 2010
and even 2008
but lets remember 2009
the last of the good old days
the madd hatter knows where he has been
that wine ain't sour yet
I'll have another sip
of yesterday's wine
it sure taste better than Tang©
jeriamiah was a bullfrog
but he always had some mighty fine wine
singing language
communication and
jam.>>>>>>>>>>>.

sad and sweet
"time the unbending deserter
it leaves us only the now
if we fill every moment with
love the time will see that it's done" the spinoza of baltimore
"it takes a fearless heart" steve earl
to love and risk the loss
and I have been a coward
and have reaped the loneliness
but I am still alive after all these years
"good times bad times I want some more of that"
eddie Brickell
listening to the silent music
only bits and pieces of lyrics remain.
thank you
thank you very much
for another year of living

I don't know why you all put up with me. Someone writes about Tang poetry and I think about astronauts mixing Tang© into their filtered urine.
So although Wei's subjects are trouble, uncertainty, loss and leaving, his lucid tone sings of the necessity of acceptance, crystallizing the attitude that we call Zen. Reading him is like listening to Mozart, there's something healing about the calm profundity with which he spins pain and disaster: "after starting a fire deep in my stove / and closing the door to my empty room / we share a gourd full of wine / and didn't speak of all the things that went wrong," he writes.

Who googled themselves the most times in 2009?
Who died this year and who was most beautiful?
Did the market finish up or down adjusted for the
threshold of pain? Who made the foulest bloopers?
Who scored at the box office? What was the killer app?
Did everything blossom or did it turn to crap?
Has the recession bottomed out or is that your muffler dragging?

we're most done
with the sour wine
labeled 2009
then there's the
glenfiddich
up in the cabinet
let's take a peek
at next year through
a peaty glass,
darkly
or if sandeman
is more to your liking
we can peer
thru the port-hole,
make auguries
and divinations,
let the chickens live
to cluck another day.

Tang poetry?
had no idea it existed. sounds intriguing
how do you do that little copyright symbol?
I'm done with the manufactured trouble (copyright).
I'm trying to live, maybe play some tunes.
"the underground," by curtis mayfield, sounded pretty good.
"mutual thoughts, familiar music, in the underground."
Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?" ain't bad either.
the cold weather ain't so bad, makes ya think.

RE: copyright symbol
I could stand some Bonnie Rait I think
A redneck musician friend payed her a high compliment
"she plays like a man"
I could hear some Hester Prynne right now that would be good
I got half of a half pint of vodka been sitting in my fridge a long time
Tonight's the night
I got your book
I can't get past the first couple of pages
you keep blowing me away with your words and I have to put it down and think
even better than cold weather for that.

I pronounced my last augury
about the time of my last marriage
it proved to be as true
and bounced like a check on fire
we prey on the past and pray to the future
like calling junk bonds 'financial instruments'
as if we paid rent on time itself
so I rarely make predictions
nor do I prognosticate
but on fair occasion
a snifter of Benedictine
fond inoculates me
against the colds of the future
and the pills of my persuasion
the bootleg bennies allow feigned focus
lest in my giddiness I stumble
and make resolutions
