Winter Solstice Jam
Yeah, man, I like de jamming, too... Brings to mind an old Bartlett quote from Otto Whittaker:
" You can look at me and see Ben Franklin walking down the streets of Philadelphia with his breadloaf under his arm. You can see Betsy Ross with her needle. You can see the lights of Christmas, and hear the strains of “Auld Lang Syne” as the calendar turns."
Yeah, man, we got a "soul brother" in the White House, who gives me hope, along with a fine Veep and Secretary of State. Our country is movin' right along toward greatness again... Much of this last decade was a struggle for many that I know...Glad this last year was a breath of fresh air going across the the world.

Snapshots of the year 2004
I been reading it backwards
My prediction is that 2004
will be the year zero of
the post human future.
indeed last days of an era
th new millenium's just begun
we turned the corner on the run
we see the future when we see the past
an i ain't talkin bout heaven
or the pearly gates
tho i know something we all should know
those shamans went up to heaven a long time ago
and homo habilis with his cane standing up the first time
liked the cane so much he took it with him all the while
and when that contentious tribe on prime land with their militia and all
woke up to buddha's love and then someone dropped the ball
an th ball started rolllin right on up an outa time
and waits now every new year's eve to drop down all that slime
a brand new baby year oh boy oh girl!
guess what a little clue about when as well as where
cause there's only one thang funnier than a jew for jesus of this you can be sure
an that's a jew for buddha mercy me truth is stranger after all it's true an more
but i know something that you do knot and it's gordian and it's pure
there's something more funny than a jew for buddha
and it's why i am here for you
for a ham is a ham is was an always shall be a ham forever an ever more
cause what's funnier than a jew for buddha is a buddhist for muhammed of this i am very sure
as the camel rides away into the savoury arabian night
her poets are in excasty with lyrics to delight.

Cassandra comes & "untangles"
Karl leaves his marx
Woody is Woody, clarinet & Allen
Wilber was my hot neighbor's father
Kabir's poetry, great & (still) mystifying
...as the mysterious lady...
we're as busy as the women's room (propers to M. French) on 5c beer night!

LIFE IS NOT MEASURED IN CONVERSATIONS UNSPOKEN
Clinking glasses all around
Conversation whirlwind dervishes
Candle flickering it's magic wind
And you and I and them
Sinking in the grip of the night
Another shot
Another poem
Another poet
Drowning in the street
Stories all of then
Now is drunk and sailing
The future is stoned in the bosom of Morpheus
Dying in it's numbness
Hallucinations of ribald tortures
Puking the night into mourning
The sun rises over the agave
Lizards grey - green and stinking
Bedsheets sweet with sex
And now death
Breath deep in morning dew
Sit

Winter Solstice Jam
Hi, Jack, etc. Let this next year bring more friends near.
Let the snow fall, let the rain come, let the sunshine in...
The sun shine in...let the warmth sink into a cold shoulder &
find you leaning against a fir tree with a smile on your face...
Let tears vanish without a trace, what tears there be...
Let the mandala turn cool karma across your soul...

find you leaning against a fir tree with a smile on your face...
Let tears vanish without a trace, what tears there be...

scrapbooks, looks
gone, all gone
like neal cassady's ashes
artguy hears wind
ghosts of dead poets
clay, one more scorched page
thaws on the counter
flies hold an impromptu referendum
icicle banner
monkey boy
waits for turtles
steve offers hope
a warm blessing
on a mantlepiece
morning meditation
headlong into a mantra
reality spins
