Winter Solstice Jam

Post by Steve Plonk » December 31st, 2009, 12:22 pm

A blue moon is coming tonight
Hope it's not too cloudy so we might
See luna's light...
Not too long before this old year's
Put to sleep,
Birds roosting in the trees begin to peep,
I "champ the bit" to start my midnight creep...
Starting gate here I come, to watch the ball
Drop in Times Square, in my old wheat colored chair...

A decade also is coming to a close,
We did some things out of our control
Some things that we chose,
We tried not to let circumstances rule us
Nor bumptious politicians fool us...
Especially that politician, Dubya,
Who certainly was not my bubbya...
Now soon we will see the grace of a new dawn,
With frosty glitter upon the new year lawn...

All you new years hopefuls
Hopelessly hoping
Maybe this year
2010 peace and tranquility
Afghanistan goat
Passed from horse to rider
Holy land - Your God my God
Green turns to brown
Ice to water
The polar bear has a tan
Obama - King
Another song to sing
I had a dream
You had a dream
we all had a dream
BOOM!!!!

Winter Solstice Jam

Post by Steve Plonk » December 31st, 2009, 1:54 pm

The big bang already happened many billions of years ago.
Hope springs eternal like the seasons of the sun,
Let's buck up and turn the booms of doom into booms of productivity...
Otherwise, your doomsay may happen...
I, for one, think that heaven (or hell) may wait...

hope
hopeful
hopeless
but hope

invite a polar bear to dinner
make peace with a penguin
promise a piranha a meal
(or not)

refuse to commit myself
straight jackets don't appeal
free jam, rinse, repeat

Winter Solstice Jam

Time to chill,
To eat & drink our fill,
To celebrate the passing of time,
For resolutions to find..

'happy new what?' said the tortoise,
miles behind our hot-blooded blur.
and the trees didn't hear,
being sound asleep;
the rocks are coma-toast,
by the time they wake up
our atoms will be in others.
Happy New Me!

finished with a bang
into empty sky
wide open now oh my
time to defer from cosmic spin
and take the time to go within
breathing one more day one more year
it never left me tho i forgot twas so near
the breath and holy smoke just one more toke
and somehow to walk into a place free from fear
and the chesshire cat comes down from the tree
puts down the pipe and catches a breeze
not to please nobody
just ta do right
with a little relish in
logos and spirit inter twined
yin and yang in love
and jesus was a holy man way back when
he got down off the cross
they put him back up again
holy ganja mama mia
let the holy man be
we turn our holy ones into god
and push them all away
2010 is just the start with jesus on our side
because we like muhammed and his arabian tribe
and muhammed likes moses yes he does and jesus too
let the holy men assemble when they want to
like shamans they fly through the night
and drop the ball when you ain't filled with fright
so smoke a little ganja weed and say a prayer or 2
and remind yourself we have holy men and holy women
they're coming back now soon all of them
we ain't leaving nobody behind
we're moving out and moving in
we gotta make it win:win win:win
the new era is to begin
when we let the muslims, jews, buddhists, hindus all win
and we the holy christian empire given in
to perfect immaculate disillusionment with jesus as the god
and let him be a holyman who leans upon his rod.

that new year, again
age has grounded me
I don’t perceive the world
not anymore, anyhow
through them
rose colored glasses
this ain’t pragmatism
singin’ some melancholy
it’s reasonableness
conjoined with some
matured expectation

that new year, again

I'm jammin' on, regardless

ain't misbehavin
i survived 2009 so now begin again
am a risky takin sort of guy
fear no evil go into your dread
and forward is the way
pragmatic reason is good
along with a lil bit o faith
in spirit out ahead of intended good
2010 will be a blast.
the holy men are coming down
they may welll be here now
waiting in jerusalem for us to have a cow
the old is gone the new is near
and some stuff just stays around
awaiting for redemption
but we are all oh so very proud
so rosey coloured glasses are niot the worser sin
intolerance and bigotry are out, nthis year inclusion is in
oh yeahhhh sing it! old man river
one more round the bend:>)

A year of finding--
faces are outside the door
voices are outside my head
and dependability happens within.

Thanks this past year to my friends
I'm better yet 'cause of words exchanged
and next year will be grander.
I'm glad I'll be going it
knowing anything happens best
in the end.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

there is that year again
two thousand and ten
two thousand and ten since when?
Zero?

Time is framed on the wall
I take down 2009
and replace it with a brand new calender
that's about all there is to it
so lets keep jamming the night away
let's dance the year away
New Friends and old friends
