New Solstice Jam

Post by Steve Plonk » December 21st, 2009, 11:53 pm

Eat that soup and dance that winter solstice
Dance to swirl the night away
We are dancing with our velcro kitty
Whose prancing on our sneakers
Outside the wind is crackling through the trees--
Inside we are by the warm hearth
With our family in peace...
Eat that soup, dance that solstice salsa or
More fun in the hall of the mountain king...
Surround by a wall of sound.

Mmmmm.... soup, the warm soul
of broth, the hearth brings flavors
to a cold spirit! I hear it bubbling!
I am ready to partake!
Bring me back around the loop
of memory to a six-year-old who
reaches up to touch the pot and
mamma says "No!," slaps my hand
and soon I'm rewarded with
a grand hot bowl, spiced to
keep the winter chill
away!

Mmmmmm.... soup!

winter here
summer there
that bastard time
everywhere

spring sprang
fall fell
winter comes
summer gone

chasing words
that never mean
what I intend
I can be miserable any time of the year
I need no excuses.
but oh lordy
every year
I hope i live
to see another spring
it is always spring time in my heart

what ragged lot of words these are

It was great for a young man
to grow up in Judea
Herod had slain the competition
the odds were good
killed all the sons
only left the maidens

so I had to choose between
adolescence and martyrdom
we didn't have protection
in those days
you didn't fuck unless
you really meant it
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

Time to trigger a maiden's spring
blush her on the ice,
bashful in her peachiness
her fragile skin wrecking
his fragile heart
by the bay, by the black drift
cold every place.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

time to haul out the democratic
non-labelling of things
all for one

maiden to knight
or somewhere in between
a lone figure reaches out

neither slay me
nor expect me to kill
i want to thrive along with you

The girls in the summer dresses
On the Beach in Buenos Aires
In New York City bundled up in furs
It is a big old goofy world

we were all stopped up.
stopped up like plugs.
plugged up like a bath tub
or a sink. undrainable.
no snake to sneak in to
get to the pipe clog.
all stopped up like a dog
is stopped up when he
can't go out, two feet
of snow, nowhere to go.

we were all stopped up and
then comes the roto router,
out pours debris and shit from
the core of it and now

we are girls in
summer dresses
drinking holiday festive
drinks with fruit on a stick
stuck right down to the
bottom, cheering like a send off
from the dock on the cruise boat

throwing confetti!
"hey guido! have a wonderful trip!"

what a big old goofy world, yeah,
a big old goofy world!
let's not label
us goners yet!

i'm on a trip to the democratic process!
i vote for all of us! but we were all stopped
up and now we're gonna GO! let it out!
shout it to the edges of shore pebbles!

it's a big old goofy world!
and we're unstopped!

the Star
was closer than it looked
and Bethlehem was such a little shit hole
we used the last of our myrrh for sunscreen
the well was rancid; even the sheep had a hustle
they called us pedophiles for simply
worshipping a child

tink tink tink drop
drop drop tink tink
icicles drip tink tink
sound effects onto
the pavement turn
ice to water drip drip
tink tink tink huge
enormous i mean
killer fucking icicles
hanging from the
eaves, tink tink atink
drop drop drop sun melts
intuitive guilt and drip drip
drip night comes 15 degrees
colder, ices over, just try
to get to your car tomorrow!
just try! just try!
better have soles
ready to grip!
what a head trip!
don't slip and fall
and call 911... 'cause
that might be a done deal!

On the dock, out to sea,
out for poker and sweat,
in it like a steam engine
on it to roar
the dresses were see-through
the dresses were invisible
when souls swim in spray
airs on frosty gay grins
we're welcome to dance
sing or whistle if fancied
invincible on late sures
laugh inhaling sea clouds
go misty, go bare-white

She goes in nestled on chocolates
fur up to conceal her pales
same vivid creamy
ankles go slightly twisted
on bracelet jingles
it's a life-saver
Doreen chimes her caller
"It's mid-night, go softly to dream
go gently people when we're all jammed
behind the bed posts, behind the curtain call
call up and climb on in."

Thanks too for the jam. Sweet dreams, enjoyed the winter moments with all of you.

woven words lie betwixt
what is thought
and what is seen
helping to define
the limitless
of which time is but a footnote
as all things living
must accept entropy
as all is a layered fractal
a unified pattern
exploding from itself
blessed be the breath
blessed be the vision
There is no empty space
