only once did I try

Post by lescaret » February 22nd, 2005, 12:27 pm

Only once did I try the Green Demon, at a party celebrating a bookstore opening, after eating hash brownies. Someone was walking around pouring out absinthe shots. The night is a blur beyond that point .... so in all honesty, I can't recommend the stuff one way or the other ...

one could be analytical about this, but it's better to wax poetic.
almost minimalist, which makes it easy to see the composition.
goes well with the blue and white "wall sclupture"

Cecil, is this from New Mehico?
Parece que es una vista grande que toque el camera.
Seems that is a large view that touches the camera.
I love the vast vistas.
Only thing like that around here is across the water
and the sky .....

No, Jimbo, not quite... This was actually taken in Texas and the vista below is mostly Texas but New Mexico is included within the view. Phar Lepht is on the TX/NM border, as you probably know, eh?

My global positioning device via encarta atylas is off line, so will, have to peruse this further...so sre you looking west to New Mexico, or North?
There's nothing out there but wild critters,! and aliens....
ps your prior banner looks like a fusion of dr zeus and matta, a chilean abstract expressionist bordering on surrealism, but the Zeus influence is really there, man!

Thankyou Doreen for posting my concert drawing and in blue!!
It gives it a more celebratory tone, for sure.

Those were sad days, the comeback slow and tedious, the scattered drawings saved points of reference, a trail of a few scattered drawings, and wow, it is so great to be able to see them now, this one also, with celebratory eyes.

Let the midnight special
Let the midnight special
Shine its light on me
Shine a light on me.
Let the midnight special
Let the midnight...
Shine its ever-loving light on me
Ever loving light on...

shine on!

thanks for the drawing, jimbo! I was hoping you'd like the blue... and i really hope it's not *too* blue.... it looks way more subtle on my screen than on LR's where it's very dark... darn internet... y'never know what other people see... all depends on their browser settings for color and resolution...

I love the image... at first, I thought of colorizing it with more detail, you know, like with people's hair being blond or brown or grey and denim colored jackets...e tc..... but then I decided just to blue it to match the blue on the boards and not disturb your original too much.....

you had me playing midnight special for a while tonight on the piano.... :D
