i love this bold piano guitar in purple.
The piano keys look like Archie Shepp's fingers.

are we in a groove, or what?
Now I see glass shining through a composition
of colors and circles and lines, with glass refracting light in abstract but beautius strokes and swaths of light. It's pink and blue, yet cool. Winter light thru a stained glass window.

hehe

You're talking about this new one, jim?

Image

This was created starting with a photograph Cecil sent me. The photo was of a dog's bowl. Looks like glass... ;)... used to be water.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! And thank you, Cecil, for providing the inspiration for the abstract. :D

So?

Now that you know what it is... er, was .... does it make the image different? I mean, can you look at it as an abstract digital painting or do you envision a dog's bowl every time you see it? ;) just curious.

crazy, i mean the picture is a miricle
how to appreciate the ordinary

knowing it is from a doggie dish makes it even better
like i said

a miricle!
likewise, i'm sure.

Cecil lives in paradise
down the road from the pass,
where we'll head him off
and ask for more.

Well, the banner for today I believe is one of Doreen's photos, as it follows a motif of finding aesthetic compositions in walls and structures, like minimalist paintings, only the design has been revealed thru the watchful eye of the seeker and now we got it!!!

And it comes thru to me with a delightful spraying of hues of grays and rose pink and subtle olive greens, quite lovely.

Hey Jim

Yeah, the stairwell is a photo of mine. Thanks! Glad you like it!

Thing is..... ya gotta realize that if you open the top banner in a new window and get the URL which is this

http://www.studioeight.tv/phpbb/templat ... _image.jpg

and post it in this thread, every time I change the banner, the image in the thread will change if it relates to that link

That's because that's where the banner is always stored and every time I upload a new banner, I rename it to "top_image.jpg" and upload it into the same directory because that's where the software refers to it to make it load on the page.

So, just to let you know if you refer to the banners by using that link, the image will continually change in the thread as I change the banners.

Make sense? ;)

Thank you, kind ladies. I thought today's Spring Equinox Jam deserved a little blooming.

The hibiscus blooms were from two separate photos of mine which I combined. Both were taken last summer in the gardens at the National Gallery of Art.

Shhhhh.... the one on the left was a different variety than the one on the right and didn't have the red center, so I painted it on to match. Don't tell anybody. (ha! It's probably obvious.... ;))

I'll post a smaller one here later so people will know what we're talking about 'cause I've been changing them every day.

Spring has sprung
The grass is riz
I wonder where
The birdies is....
