yeah the red river in downtown shreveport
now they got steamboats anchored there with casinos
big mike was a fellow driver at the caddo council on the aging there
we had brought the old folks down to the center park for a festival
i took a photo
i showed it to him once
he showed no emotion
(but he was like that portrayed in thhis portraiture in a landscape
a big peasant
but warm and coddly with the folk rockers)
i didn't want to give it to him
so i put it back in my portfolio
glad the drawing and i both have survived
that was over 20 years ago
been here in florita sonce march of '88
had left shreveport on the road in may of '87
where they had a couple of art places
mainly i made it at the stoner art center
mercy
on stoner avenue
a nice down and out lil ditty
regards

yes liked the cropping and compo, dori. i'm gonna leap outa my tank! 8)

Kari's (glorious amok) banner haunts me. Terrific shot.

Anybody ever hear from her?

I always liked todays banner a lot, but it makes me sad even so, when I think about whimsical deb.

I could cry for the art I have lost jim, one was a drawing a guy drew of the trawler I worked on called the Tarsinghe, and another was a pencil or charcoal an old girlfriend drew of me.

How did you manage to hold onto your art with all your wnderings, your father's foot locker? When I was in the wind it stripped me of everything except a couple of books and some old truck stop napkins that I had scribbled random notes to myself on.

One of these days I am going to gather those old napkins, grocery bags and other odd bits and pieces of paper I wrote on and type them up.

The link you used is the link to the banner, jack.

That means that the next time I change the banner, the image that's appearing on your post will also change. The banner is in a specific location with the name "top_image.jpg" .... every time I put a new one in there, I name it "top_image.jpg" and put it in the same place. Make sense? Just letting you know... you will have to save it somewhere else and change your link for it to stay the same.

Why in the world does it make you sad when you think of whimsical deb?

growing up in Canada, a kilt was an essential part of my wardrobe (mine came from Scotland but i forget whose pattern i wore ...MacDonald? that would be prophetic)
i also had a tartan little bag for the foreign coins my father brought back from trips.
Oh, the memories.
Anyway, the beautiful effects of this banner hit me well. (don't really remember it from before, which is also fun)
