I don't know who said it but one of 'em is jaw-dropped over you!

Are they haddock?
Are they trout?
I can't figure it out.

I think the photo's fab!
Don't know if it's good for a banner, though.
But I'm a fan of sea food, so,
I decided to try it on.
After a while, it'll be gone.

Pretty soon, we'll be up to our gills
with this catch of the day
and the colorful banner
will swim away.

;)

I donno. You can ask him if you want. He is Nubbins on AC or Southbound Snackeyderm here on S8. Check his profile here and maybe there's an email address or send him pm.

(I did a little contrast on it in photoshop, but not much... it's a great shot!)

I will assume he was in another plane or in a really tall tree.

No tree (while I love shooting planes, not about to climb trees for it :)), not aboard another plane.

Shot from ground level as a 'you never know what happens' shot shortly after the airbus took off (she's just into her turn away from runway heading--flaps up, which happens @1500-3000 feet agl)

Closeness/size of the moon relative to the aircraft is exaggerated in using a 100-400mm telephoto, as these have the tendency to flatten space between objects.

Happy you guys liked it!

Peter Snackyderm... thanks so much for all your photo contributions for banners... they've been a big hit, as you can see. People love them. I wish I was better at keeping up with documenting them on the thread as people comment so the thread makes sense but we who have seen, know....:) - Wendy

gypsyjoker -
That was Virginia Beach, not OC. Haven't been to OC in about 10 years. Need to go back. Let's meet there one day, ok? ;)

judih-
Yeah, I love Peter's photography! This one with the manniquins makes me want to go into the window and be one of them and pose with the others. :) He's got a great eye.... Worked a little on the bagels today... but would love a higher resolution... do you have one?

no, that's the only resolution i've got, unless i can play with the image.

let me see what i can do!

mmm, bagels

edit;;;;;looked but i've got way to enhance resolution.
and now, i'm hungry with only the help of actively salivating imagination to chew me a zen bagel.

OK, jimbo! I'll repost snacky's moon & plane tonight.

I usually change them every day.

Maybe I should keep them up for 2 days? or 3?

What do you think?

(Last 5 or so haven't been documented yet on the other thread where I'm posting smaller ones to save them... gotta get to that soon, too.)

The late autumn lake scene a nice mood, still sunny, mnaz out west with dry air, wandering. It would be nice to see more autumnal scenery. Urban Florita is waiting to be expozed.

Holy crap--today's banner, Ben's--that's one serious image. Espresso for the eyes. Incredible.

p.s. 'Southbound Snackyderm' is a play on 'Southbound Pachyderm' which is a Primus song from the album 'Tales From the Punchbowl'... :)
