After the sandstorm
fat rollicking peacocks
feast on fallen pecans

Peacock pride from a rainbow tail...a deadly sin indeed..

smart peacock knows
when the other have their heads up
more pecans are left below

Parading with bleats & squeaks
Celebrating in their birdy way
The end of the year in weeks--
We celebrate, too, in our
Human ways--drinking wine and
Eating little snacks on trays,
Hoping the next year
Will be fine...
