Warm spell's awakening the flowers
Tulips & daffodils raising their heads
Snows have recently melted
Instead of snow there's rain a-pelted...

No snow clouds appear this week
Baby birds being fed by mama's beak,
Just rain clouds windily gathering...
Purple Martins are returning
In bird houses there's a-smattering...

heading for the end
of february
promise of spring
festivals and pow-wow's to come
makin' music
creatin' wire art
my mission in life
writing the passion
it's unstoppable
mid-winter a memory

darkness melts
revelation of seeds rumbling on the underside
bursts of fantasy

70 degrees in february
memorial service for jim
i told them all his rainbow came
after all, read poetry to call
the winter season to a halt
he had to go
but we were there
it wasn't his fault
i'll miss him
he watched us
a prism
of light
overhead
i guess one day
we'll all be dead
and meet again
somewhere over
the rainbow,
sober as gods
and goddesses,
embracing
our modest
sacred times
rhyme after rhyme
revised reincarnated
sated by the continuing

The wind is so strong today, whistling loud past the window panes, sounds like a jet taking off every now and then, I thought I was Dorothy in Kansas for a few minutes and my house was just going to get lifted up and carried out in a whirlwind of dust! I was hoping I'd land in the pretty flower field with Toto and the scarecrow and the lion by my side. Unfortunately, though, the Wizard is a hoax! I want to believe in the Wizard.

snow snow...that's all i'm
hearing today into the night
winter still has ahold on!

mud hints of wintry rain
dust storms hint of wintry wind
but i wait for winter

Honeys, I'm home!

Only two inches on the ground and they closed the schools today, still will dig out in a flash, invest my time in my health, blood test on the agenda. Hoping for a good word.

March 20th brings the vernal equinox
Until then we have this off & on faux spring
So, if it's warm we'll wear short sleeves
Plenty of time before the new born leaves
"Pussy willows, cattails, soft winds..." & primroses...
