thorn-spiked crash helmet
under stalactite relief
grog-told tales of other times
lyre and chariot sleep

This is a clip from the quintessential movie about mid-winter: GROUNDHOG DAY, Starring Bill Murray, et al...

In the clip, Phil, the sarcastic weatherman, makes a bleak prediction,
as a result of living the day over several times: See below--

Way down near the Gulf of Mexico,
Where it hardly ever snows...
I used to while the way the hours,
With a few whiskey sours,
When the breeze came in from the Gulf--
During a Miami Beach visit back in 1968.
I barely had money to make it back up...
Palm trees, fine looking women, and
A long strange trip...Babylon by Bus--
It's gotten longer and stranger since then...
But I, a clump of mud, stood next to a rose
Who made all the difference.
Some of her scent rubbed off on me
So I had something to write home about...

So I stood there smelling like a rose
Oh believe me this is how it goes
So I walk into this bar called the primrose
and meet a biker gang called the deadblows
One said with a smile
his voice a little gentile
Where you'd get that fancy hairstyle

Cold, it calculates
measures bloodlines
severs meek and old
awaits rebuttal from
ebullient flow
liquid luxury
calculated
warmth

We get through our winters with the help of the warmness
of friends and though the blankets of snow can freeze us so,
spring will come again and we will rise like garden flowers,
grow healthy and bloom in multiple colors, cherishing the sun!
You, too, can make it through. Be positive and strong.
Know you are loved.

I wiped my ass with a red autumn leaf
that was peeking above the frozen horizon
and would not have been able to check it for blood from
my swollen flower-like hemorrhoids
except I bleed beautiful fluffy white snow
We should not mind if on our ear there fell. Some less of cunning, more of oracle...Thoreau

thanks Doreen, I'm glad I dropped by
and the snow 'round here is waist high
no, off course, I'm only kidding
hark, I hear the angels singing
close, it's all the plows beginning :)
