Dear Doreen:
I strongly suggest you check your forum for possible infections by viruses. Or something.
For the second time now, my computer has been forced to download software when I have visited your site.
No other site forces this download.
For the moment, I shall not be visiting "StudioEight."
Sorry.

Hi Norman
What you are experiencing must be specific to your machine, not the forums. I'm not having that problem. Nor is LR or anyone else.
Recently there was a discussion about this same type thing on another board.... I'll see if I can find some answers for you.
But I'm almost positive, this has to do with something on your machine, not the Apache server which is hosting the forums. I will, though, post a question to the host and put in a trouble ticket and see how they answer.

our Host's answer (damn, they're quick! I love it!)
We like having you around!
Hope that helps. Wouldn't want to see you disappear from here, Zlatko! This would indeed be caused by spyware present on user's computer. It has nothing to do with your hosting account or the server.
You might wish to respond by recommending that the user purchase and install the following spyware remover:
Trend Micro Internet Security
http://www.trendmicro.com/
It will probably get rid of the spyware on the user's machine.

malicious 'spyware'

Dear Cornelius and Doreen:
First, thank you, Cornelius, for the spybot advertisement repelling site. I have downloaded their shield and "S and D" engine. My computer was full of spyware, now removed. Even though I run a "SpamBlocker" program from my ISP, the pc was still infected.
Your recommendation was a genuine community gesture, and I appreciate it. I also appreciate your well-crafted and careful prose on this board.
Doreen: Thanks for your efforts on my behalf, and for constructing this board where we can exchange views, analyses, and nickering, fun meanderings.
A soft Johnsonian French-style handkiss for you.
