centering text

How do you 'center' the text in a post?
I had to add a few html codes to make certain things work here. Center is one of them.
Use these type of brackets <> instead of these type of brackets [].

I can't type it with the < brackets because it doesn't show up... since it's code.
Just substitute the [ ] brackets with these <>
