Doreen, question?

Post by Sober Duck » March 18th, 2005, 1:07 am

When one posts a reply there is a subject box. When filled in it will show up on the preview but when submited the subject never makes it to the page. That's driving me crazy. Am I missing something? I've been known to.

p.s. about private messages

Post by judih » March 18th, 2005, 8:40 am

About Private Messages

Did you know that if you send a message to someone, and if they haven't yet read it, you can delete it from your outbox and they'll never get it.

It's true.

I could send an outrageous p.m. to someone and if i regret it, and they haven't yet picked it up, i can delete the thing as if it never existed.

This is a useful piece of information. Savour it and use it when required.

Ducky - yeah, I'm aware of this... it drove me nuts at first, too, until I just decided to tell everybody that it doesn't work, so don't use it. hahahaha.... Seriously, though, when I have the time, I intend to go to the help forums for this software and ask how to fix this. Thing is, I know how they'll answer. They'll tell me to upgrade the software to the current version and I know I should do that but if I do it, I have to re-do all of the custom changes I've made. All of your avatars will disappear again and I'll have to reupload the ones I have. The style (the way the page looks) will go back to the default and I'll have to reinstall this style so it looks like it does now. The Home page link will disappear and I'll have to find that file and put the link back in and reupload it.... awww geezzzz .... there's way more I can't remember. I'm rambling, SD, sorry.... Point is, the darn subject line thing doesn't work and though, I want to fix it, it's easier right now for me to tell you... Sorry, please don't use it. *smile*.... *sigh*.... ;)

judih - yep, that's exactly right about the pms. They're held in the Outbox if they haven't been opened and read and then move to the Saved box (I think that's what it's called) after they're read. Pretty cool! So, if you need to send hate mail, it's best to do it while everybody's sleeping and then you can delete it before they wake up! LOL! :D

Post by Sober Duck » March 18th, 2005, 12:59 pm

Thank's Doreen, now that I know it doesn't work I'll just add my topic to the first line of text as I have been doing. No problem, I wouldn't upgrade at this point just to correct that little problem.
And further more, thanks for all the hard work it takes to keep this site going, I sure do appericiate it.

Well, Sober, actually the upgrade would be a good idea and I really should take the time to do it, but that would mean shutting the forums down for a few hours, but that's ok. I'm sure there are fixes to quite a few things which is why the developers upgrade the software to begin with.

I'm going to post a topic at the help forums about the reply topic heading which doesn't appear... I'll start there... but I really do need to upgrade the entire software package.

Thanks for your kindness and support and being here! We all enjoy your posts.... :D
