is there an easily installed php plugin that allows users to "ignore" threads, thereby making it so we dont get little "new" arrows that we have to clear by clicking on threads we dont want to read? just wondering.

Just click "Mark all topics read" bottom left of the page inside each forum. That will remove the arrows so you don't have to click the topic to remove the arrow. From the index page, similar link.. bottom left.. "Mark all forums read."

Is that what you meant?

what i mean is, say theres a thread in some board that is frequently being replied to but holds no interest for me, is there a way that i can define that thread as "ignored" so that its replies dont show up for me as new posts?

i did look up on the php forums site and didnt find any mods for this type of action, so i'm not sure if it exists. i see it, tho, on some forums for support websites. i think opera.com has it. not sure. but anyway, it can be a nice way of ignoring threads that are argumentative or boring or something, at least for individual users.

Oh... I see.

OK. When I have a moment, I'll go over the the phpbb help boards and see if someone can direct me to a mod.

If you couldn't find one there, there probably isn't one on the site, but that doesn't mean there isn't one somebody else might have. (Thanks for looking, btw.. you saved me a step)

I'll let you know what I find out.
