I don't know. I haven't been to another site for a Jam yet. But I'd like to try it!

No. I'd rather just stay here at Studio Eight and Jam.

Word Jam Poll - Do you like going to other sites to Jam?

Post by Doreen Peri » January 24th, 2006, 7:34 pm

We've been doing collaborative Word Jams with 2 other websites for some time now.

The participation in these Jams has been less and less instead of more and more as we had hoped.

We'd like to get your comments about this type of collaboration.

Do you like going to other sites for Word Jams?

Please answer the poll and offer any comments you have about this topic.

What DO you like about going to other sites for Word Jams?

Why DON'T you like about going to other sites for Word Jams?

Thanks!

.......

Here are links to the two other sites we've been collaborating with, alternating between our site and theirs to do Word Jams.

i jam wherever i can get it.
i jam at the NCN PoetTree when it happens, or at DARC if it happens or at tribes poetry jams if it happens, and i forgot about scroll lately because it hasn't happened (or did it and did i forget it?) and arcanum if it happens.

i like jamming.

Now, since you asked pointedly, i'll pointedly say, doreen, that i like jamming here cause it's so pretty, the colours are welcoming and we can image if we choose or otherwise express our individuality. A sudden music piece shows up and the site smiles, no bust buttons.

Friendly all-welcome jamming is a nice thing - it's good here.

Only a mod or two (hmmm, could that be me?) gets upside in the midst of chit chat instead of poetry, but the bizarre gatekeepers will have to deal, cause sometimes chat happens.

in short:

yeah.

Just too dam crazy Doreen. And a coward. Somehow I feel safe here. You and Clay are such honest people.
thank you

Unfortunately I don't have internet access at home this year...so it's harder for me to participate in the jams...but I love their creativity and conversation. I love the inspiration they provide...how they pull minds in different directions and thoughts to new levels.

I will agree with Judih that Studio 8 is a more user friendly place, I think. It does have more of a nested mood and feeling. And I have just gotten lazy because of that and I don't tend to move around between things as much as I should.

I ´d like to add the option: yes, I like it but not too much as here.

maybe the doors-thing and the lazy-thing also work in me. Thinking twice maybe the doors-thing no... And sometimes I wasn´t at home or available at the jams hours, and sometimes I only read but I just didn´t want to write anything. Who knows, everything changes.

friendly saludos to the scroll and dark sites!,

I am seeing if I can post from my site on to Studio Eight so that next jam I can bring studio eight to my poets and they never have to leave their poetic home, so far so good.
I am with Doreen and Judih, I love to jam no matter where its at and I feel right at home here, but I am a poetic whore, I spread it around everywhere whether it is wanted or not, lma. Many blessin to the Studio Eight family from the DARC..

I haven't participated in any jams on other sites, and only once here at S8.
I think the jams are a cool idea, but generally not really my scene.

I'm hit or miss on the jams. Sometimes it seems a snazzoid, jamtastic idea; other times, not so much. If I'm into it, I'll go. Location shouldn't matter that much, although I'll admit that I've mostly stayed here on S8 with the jammins'...

Thanks all for your feedback.

Based on the feedback here and also on iblieve's poll on his DARC site, most people prefer staying at their "home" sites to jam.

So, iblieve and I decided not to make these "formal" collaborations any more.

What we're going to do is simply announce our own jams on each other's forums.

(pretty much what we've already been doing anyway ... :D)

That being said (don't you hate that extraneous phrase "that being said
"? I do)... anyway that being said, we're going to do a "Let's DUET" jam in a coupla weeks collaboratively with the DARC forum coming soon to the internet near you. Check this "What's Happenin'" forum for more details.

peaceout.

I tried to sign up for the jams at DARC a couple of times, never had any luck registering. I tried thistle and marigolds and The Scroll a couple of times. I used to like to jam a lot, but I realized that I was unclear on the concept, suppose to be like action poetry? my posts were just spontaneous gibberish. so I don't jam much anymore.

Just saw this reply of yours, stillT! The concept is spontaneous writing getting inspired by the writing of others... poetry or prose... yeah, like GO~! Hope you decide to participate again!

low-key poetic responses
Ten four on the low key.
I been working on my Stoicism.
“You are a little soul carrying around a corpse.” Epictetus

But there is not much poetry in me
If there were I would be writing an epic poem about Nectarines. I have had a lousy cold or something like it the past couple weeks. I am exhausted from coughing, I went out to the Handy Andy store and bought three nectarines. The feel and taste of that sweet luscious mouthful made me feel happy to be alive again.

Bite into soft warm fragrant fruity flesh, surprised by happiness. Reminded to be alive.
