I'd rush the seasons 'til they spin and spring
and summer last all year! Though autumn is quite
dear, as well, to my heart, winter and I are not
much friends and I can't wait for it to end.
We're better separated, apart.
One day I'll relocate to where
the sun is never late to set or rise,
where warmth is never a surprise.

Even when I'm in the house with furnace
going at full blast, my clothes are layered
tripled up, my cup is filled coffee or with tea
that's hot as hot can be, and when I venture
out, no doubt I will not go without my gloves
and scarves, sweatshirts, and layers upon layers
of leggings and of socks.

I often envy flocks of geese who travel south
for their escape and when I see them soar,
my mind escapes to join them in their
flee to warmth so I, too, can tour
the islands where more heat from sun
can warm me to my core!

...........

Hey Mark, if you want to start a Jam tonight, we can do it in GO! As long as I've completed the little book of poetry and art for my friend who is home with hospice care for cancer since I'm visiting him tomorrow, I'll join in, for sure!

:)
