Lightning Rod is an excellent Dallas poet, writer, and musician who desperately needs to raise money to save his eyes . The event will be held on Sunday, August 21st, at Poor David's Pub and features a very talented line-up of Dallas and OKC musical acts.

NOTES FROM DOREEN PERI:
The Poet, Lightning Rod, has cataracts and is going blind. He cannot afford the expensive operation since the US has no Universal Healthcare system and Medicaid isn't paying for his operation. He's also recently had a larynxectomy from cancer so this is a poet who cannot speak and cannot see to write.
If you can't be there, please feel free to donate and send your donations by Paypal.

Looks like I'm going to be there after all..... I'll read a poem or two and bring a painting for the silent auction.
