Virginia. Yes. I could do Virginia, too. (Because I live here.. haha)
Yeah, location is the thing. That's why we were thinking of having a variety of locations so many people could participate.
Just doesn't seem there's been much activity on this thread in regards to ideas for locations and organizers for those locations. It's still early, though, so we'll see what happens.
I can organize a Virginia event but only if there's enough interest.
If not, you're still invited to come visit me. *smile*

Perhaps if many of the details or even "optional" details were already streamlined in a sense and the overall details of the event already worked out, it might be more appealing for people to take the responsibility of trying to organize and see through the event in their area. As it is, it is still very loosely-defined and could seem too overwhelming for some people. I don't know, just wondering if fleshing out "suggested" details would attract more people.
One example could be already having a basic starter flyer already designed for each area that each area's organizer could use if they want to, leaving room for the area, time, location, and details to be easily inserted.
Another thing could be a basic checklist for those unfamiliar or inexperienced in organizing their own event, such as things to communicate with a venue about and ways to petition local artists and art enthusiasts to help spread the word, things to consider if part of that area's event is somehow going to benefit some cause, common volunteer positions that will be needed the night of the event and other considerations.. Could come up with a basic bit of copy just for Craigslist and etc for people to add the details of their area's event and spread the word about it.
Just trying to think of ways to make it more clear that this is something S8 is directly involved in and behind in an organized and well thought out manner as well as easier somehow for those wanting to set one up in their area

Something else that might help could be to also encourage people to still participate that can't make it to one of the actual live events and do not have the availability to organize one for their area by letting people link up live and recorded podcasts of them celebrating, creating art, etc in their own homes and environments, just an idea, trying to help
