Okay...I am doing this crafts show at Ft. Bliss, Texas (they have their own addy even though it's in Phar Lepht Texas) and for some durned reason...every single year they start the show on Friday...you set up your stuff and sit there until 6 in the evening and hardly anyone comes in the door...every year, every single Friday of the show. So if you want to do this show...you HAVE to do this Friday thingee. Sheesh!
I sold one ring and Jan (my pard) sold one pair of earrings...whoopee!
It was nice to visit with the other gypsies...did a lot of that. Also sat and made some beaded beads...did a considerable amount of that. Jan is sick with a cold or allergies or something so she was miserable being miserable... I tried to get her to go home but she insisted on being there being miserable...
A wad of young troops who are there to help the vendors with whatever they need helping with were walking around looking at stuff but being privates...buck privates, they could only look.
Here's hoping that Saturday and Sunday go much better (they usually do) and here's also hoping that the grand poohbahs realize that doing the show on Friday sucks and will skip it next year (probably not...)
Getting onto the post is fun too...with all the security, I think many folks would rather not bother. By the way...don't kid around with the MPs...they are not in the mood...
I am off to make some of friend Karen's famous tuna salad recipe with Mrs. Renfro's Chow Chow and curry for my lunch later. At least I will eat well.
Wish me luck...
Peace,
SooZen

WoW! You guys must have some pull in the universe because the good luck wishes certainly worked wonderfully. I had a regular customer come by and she bought two of my necklaces, two pair of earrings and a pin. She also bought two of Jan's necklaces so we both did very well with that one fine lady...over $400 bucks worth of stuff!
This is one of the pieces I sold, focal lampwork beads by Richard Inman and Bernadette Fuentes, freshwater pearls, bali silver and czech glass:

and this is a pair of earrings she bought using Cecil's art, Karen Cascio lampwork beads and sterling silver:

A strange thing happened tho, I was working on some beaded beads on and off during the show and sat my bobbins of thread on the table...next thing I knew, they disappeared. A vendor across from us found one spool on the floor and I found a couple more out in the aisle but about eight are still missing. I found the baggie they were in, empty. All I can figure is some kid picked them up and was playing with them and they went hither and yon. O well, all I need is another excuse to go to the bead store. Hah!
Also, I am going to start teaching bead and wirework again, one on one in my studio and now have a bunch of people lined up for classes. I don't like teaching groups because there is always that one person that takes up all of the time (and may NEVER get it) so this person to person will suit me better.
Thanks again for the good luck...I will carry it with me again today and then it's back to the studio for a show next month in San Antonio. Yeehaw!
