P.S I'll be the one w/the scarecrow Bush image on my bright red coat, holding up a very homemade sign w/anti-Bush slogans and cartoon character buttons on my bookbag.

Glad you are getting out there K, the street is a tremendous energy flow.

I am old veteran street protester. Taking abreak on this however, due to the above. Last event we were covered on local community radio on Vets Day when I tossed fake Bush dollars into the street while we read the names of the (American) dead from Florida....

but I get depressed.....wigged.....when I was young we marched and marched and knew we were making a difference. Now, it is your turn.
I'll be back of course, we have our local groups....I just renewed my membership in Vets for Peace.....we are perpetually forming a local chapter, but again, I stepped back from primary chapter contact person, the dude who is doing it now is getting a liver transplant, alll the while sending out notices and news stuff.

One way to help is to talk to potential enlistees when the situation arises.
Taking it to the streets!

sweets you don't even know that i refused duty in the air force, i bent my wings in front of a large crowd at the state capital in Concord, New Hampsire, cast them down to the ground, yelling about the lack of ethics of airforce pilots, spring 1972, when you were just a gleam in my eye, 24 years old and already older than me (r.i.p.) pops lived to be, yes,
yes, i am somewhat radical, but i think it makes sense, not harming others and looking for alternatives to war, yah, i was a pilot, then a bum. a hard comedown.
but i got to live a revolutionary life.
i refused duty, yes.
today the option is usually desertion.
but keep up with the antiwar movement.
we are all connected that way.

i don't find that twisted or wrong at all. In fact, I find it fascinating, and a major statement against the war. *sobs* I'm so fockin' prued! Now that we've got the Irvine Welsh type business out of the way.. You should post about your groups in florida, for all the other orange state hipsters chillin around. They need to hear it!
