OK. So they opened up the Jam board over there and it's 5 hours afterward but only me and LR and judih showed up so far.

Hmmm.... It's springtime and people are all busy with gardening and bike riding and taking hikes in the woods to look at the wildflowers, probably, right?

OR????? is there another problem?

ARe the jams getting old hat?

Do you all prefer the software over here?

OR??

I feel like I'm throwing a party and sitting in my own living room by myself eating the pretzels and chips waitng for the dorbell to ring... lol!

awwww.... now don't feel sorry for me, it's ok... I'm OK... just trying to determine whether to drink this whole bottle of tequila by myself... no WAIT!... LRod will join me, I'm sure. ;)

But seriously.... I've got another idea for a different type of word jam.... What do you all think of this?

A scenerio... we play characters... we assign character names and roles in advance, then meet at certain time online to write a play together.

A week ahead of time, we create a setting and character names and people sign up in advance and then show up to write their lines in the play and we interact spontaneously during the scenes... Similar to the Who's Line Is It Anyway? Show with Drew Carey.

Like this....

Setting: A bar in an old run down hotel.
Situation: News comes on the radio. The bank down the street has just been robbed. (or any other scenario)

Characters

A doctor
A whore
A businessman
A senator
An axe murderer
A gypsy
A magician
Two mystics
A policeman
A gambler

Whaddya think? Would something like that be fun? hmmmm?

Who knows what type of storyline we'd come up with!

Just an idea.

Any input at all about how these Word Jams are going (or, in this case, not going) would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's the site. I can't ever get in. I think they change login names or something. I have my password and my login, but it won't fly. Then, when I try to change my fucking login after trying to log in 3 million times, it says i already exist, but I can't get in!
so fuck it!

fuck everything this week!

But I tried!

Hi hest

bummer.... well, I don't know what the problem could be with the log-in but I know when I registered there, I had to register without the space between my first and last name.

The log-in doesn't take spaces. So, I log in as doreenperi and then when I post, it appears as my name with a space. Try logging in one more time without a space between your name? That is if the 3 million times hasn't already been enough! Geesh! I don't blame you for giving up. If the no space thing doesn't work, you could email Thom, the webmaster - his address is scroll@scroll.org.

Might not be much use getting in anyway if nobody shows up but me and LR. You can talk to us right here. hahahaha ;)

I'm a little disappointed that this Jam hasn't happened at all yet. But what can ya do, y'know? We never know what's going to happen. It's the internet. As unpredictable as life itself.

Thanks for trying, hest... I'm so sorry it was a pain and you haven't been able to get in.

:) love ya!

hester?
i'm surprised a little thing like logging in would divert your entry.

re-register. why not.
if the mountain won't open to 'open sesame', re-invent the secret code.

how many times i've danced between judih1 or judiha or other variations of a judih because of recalcitrant login bouncers at various doors.

crash the party. if not now, some other now.
it's not the now, it's the how

"Heh" she shaid, sheepishly.

You've witnessed me at the end of my fuse. Indeed I could have relogged in and I tried but it told me that I was already in existance there, at which point I middle fingered it outta there.

It's been a trying week and I hope you'll pardon my regrettable
outburst.

There's always a next time.....
:D

Ola!... I just read Hester's posts -- bizarre as it sounds, I had the SAME experience... and no matter what I tried I could not get in... until I finally gave up... it was the same last time -- for the last jam...

I always record my login and password -- so it's not a matter of forgetting... am sensitive to case sensitive... tried re-entering my log in with and without spaces... tried changing passwords... nothing worked...

So that's two of us (at least) who experienced technical difficulties...

I didn't post sooner, because I assumed it was only me with the problem.

-- I could register under another name -- but that doesn't prevent the problem from re-occuring... just wondering if there is a techie out there who can help...

peace ;)

OK.

I contacted Thom, the webmaster at the Scroll, and pointed him to this thread.

He checked his log-in records and replied this way...

He said,

I wish they had emailed me.

I checked my records.

Whitebird was trying to login as "whitebird sings", but the login is "Whitebird".

Hester was trying to login as "hester" or "hesterprynne" or something, and the login is "Theda".

If anybody has a problem in the future, they can always contact help@scroll.org or webmaster@scroll.org or scroll@scroll.org and I'll get notified very quickly.

Think HELP. help@scroll.org

Hope that helps!

See? It was just a simple thing, afterall.

I never have a problem with log-in because I keep my log-in exactly the same for every site I visit.

If you tend to change your log-in for different sites, it would be good to keep a record of your log-ins somewhere.

Thank you for the feedback and the help...

Thom... if your records are able to reflect it -- I tried several variations to login since the one that I had recorded 8) was not accepted...

I will try again... and hope for every success...

Thanks again to Doreen and Thom for taking the time to figure all this out...
