Three new online books of poetry from Scriptor Press

Post by Cenacle » April 6th, 2008, 11:08 pm

I'm happy to announce that three of Scriptor Press's books, which had not been previously available online, are now available for free download at the Scriptor Press website. They are as follows:

1) Ferry Tales (1999) by Ric Amante:
Description: Ferry Tales features Boston-born poet Ric Amante's visionary take on the world and its human and non-human inhabitants. Writing with a lyrical ferocity that may remind a reader of Rumi or Rilke, Amante's poems are both vast and economical, each word finely spent out.

3) North of Jersey (2000) by Joe Ciccone:
Description: New Jersey born poet Joe Ciccone writes from a wellspring where the incantatory fire of Rimbaud mixes with the good-natured righteousness of Woody Guthrie. Always chasing into the future, in part by nudging again and again into the past, Ciccone's North of Jersey volume works its questions hard, and harder still.

Pawn Title Keep Car (2001) by Barbara Brannon

Description: Barbara Brannon is a native of the American south, living many years in Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas, among other places. Her work has the qualities a sculptor would bring to language, the same consideration of phrase, the same seeking for what angles and forms feel right. Her Pawn Title Keep Car collection is as serious as it is funny.

Go get these books and enjoy some great contemporary poetry!

Peace,
Raymond
